  • @AdamsSara what kind of paper do you use?i make this with different kind of paper but the result was not satisfying:( hope you

can tell me more about the paper you use:) thanks in advance

  • when i was at the first part of this video one of the left hand half cubes broke apart and I fell to despair (again) :D damn hard to make but I won't give up. thanks for the good instructions!

  • puh, 3 righthand units done, 2 hours gone xD takes a lot of time -particularly cutting the paper- but it´s easier than it lookes!

i hope i´ll have enough patience to finish tomorrow :-)

  • done, all up it took about 5-6 hours xD

it works, but it is a little fragile, i think i´ll fix it with some glue inside^^

    thxxxxx for the instruction!

  • graciaass

    lo i

  • how much days did you've been making this origami guys?

  • how much minutes do you make this thing?

  • i made this and when i turned it it collapsed >:[

  • how did you make this without glueing it?

  • @darkangel78917 With patience. :)

  • yooooooo im going to make this but how much paper is needed?

  • Ohh myyy Gooodd!! I just finished mineee!! Wooohoooo!! Thank you soooo much!! Although mine's not to stable cuz I made it with regular paper! But I don't care, I'm gonna use tape!! Lmao! XD Thanks again and happy new year!! :D -3

  • how do you make the other half (meaning the star on the inside)? do you use the same units but in a different order?

  • @AdamsSara the double star flexicube is a paper version of the yoshimoto cube by yoshimoto

  • @Earthdestroyers99 Yes, indeed it is. :)

  • If u make 2 of these and u put them together u can make the yoshimoto cube

  • where do u get da paper

  • @wong2008a This paper? In most stationary stores, I'd say. I used normal printing paper, and normal card stock.

  • what size are those papersz

  • @melissahotz Please check the video description for paper sizes.

  • u said 8 sheets of yellow paper and 12 sheets of green and all u have is 4 sheets of yeloow and 4 sheets of green so why ???!!!!!????

  • @melissahotz

uh..... those 4 green ones and 4 yellow oens are made up of 3 sheets each o.o

  • its too hard, when i fold the cube thingy's it doesnt hold togheter so i use tape but then u cant re open 0_o

  • life less

  • can you use squares?

  • @BrookesOrigami No, you cannot. Check part 1 for the size the paper needs to have (A-sized). Essentially, the ratio of the sides need to be about1 by square root of 2.

  • holy shit that is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i made one but i ended up taping it to hold it together.....

  • u don't even show us this is a good video but u should show us how to make it

  • Check part 1 first...

  • I made this as my first origami :D

a lot of fun but after 2 hours I meat that it maybe was a little difficult getting a noob.

but after 3 hours I managed it took a lot of tape but you can not expect anything better from but the first time ...

but it was very fun skins check the other pages and try me on those too.

  • omg i need to watch all of the parts, i skipped right up to the end of this and its absolutely incredible!

    its utterly genius!!

  • Thos is so cool!

  • so if you make two of em then you can ake a magic box ofstars?

  • Yes, you can.

  • Thnxs on the info. on the card paper! :) I remember that i saw it at walmart one day so off to walmart! I'm goin' to walmart, really, right now! ;)

  • 2:56 scared the shit outta me

  • wow i failed so hard

  • where can you get card

  • You can use coloured printer paper, which is available in many stores. Often they also carry heavier printer paper, which they usually call card. Don't choose too thick paper, though. Some paper, which is labelled as card, will be too thick to fold with.

  • Sorry, I won't. I'm not into that part of origami, and don't plan to look into it in the future. But I think a couple of other users on YouTube have posted videos on it.

  • thanks for the tutorial i made me one ^^

  • is egular copy paper good for the dsf

  • Regular copy paper should be ok to start with. I prefer using slightly stronger paper for the modules.

  • Hi, Sara, my congratuletion, im like papiroflexia, please you video of the rose kawasaki,, i need please, please..thanks for you help...thanks

  • Amazing!

  • excuse sara, but i just wanted to know what type of paper you used to make this, because when i made it, i used origami paper & it was kinda thin. when i made it with the origami paper, it had trouble staying together & it kept coming apart. do you think this is because the paper was too thin??

  • Ah, yes, I cut out that part of the video. So here's my tip:

Use thicker paper for the right-hand and left-hand units, and thinner paper for the hinges. If you use thicker paper, you might want to use a tool to make sharp creases (chopstick, bonefolder, some random pen, whatever), rather than destroying your thumbnail...

I used card, and normal office paper in this video.

  • oh, thank you! i'm going to try this again with thicker paper. you & david brill must really know each other, aren't you in the like council for an origami thing there at oxford?

  • lol I had almost forgotten *runs upstairs to get paper assembly pieces* XD

this is fun! it's decorative, AND entertaining ^^

  • OMG!!!

I was looking for this model a while ago, thankyou so much!!!!!

  • It's been a while Sara =) I like this model a lot.

  • Oh and... So is a sheet of A7 paper 1/8 of a legal size sheet of paper?

  • No, it's 1/8 of an A4 paper. Check erikdemaine(dot)org/thok/longrect(dot)html for how to change legal size paper into A size paper.

  • hey, sara... did you hear, BIRD IS THE WORD!!!!!

  • Wait, So in total i need 64 sheets of A7 Paper ?

  • If you want two of these structures interjoining - yes.

  • I've made one from metacafe, a user "golics" made it with tape and paper.

Now i'm gonna make one with only origami :)
