I have this on a 45. It was released in 1981 on Arista Records. Writing credits are to Notte/Bush. the sublabel is Young Philadelphians Music. And it's a great memory. Thanks fellas.
This song reminds me of the summer I spent in Avalon, New Jersey when in college. It was getting lots of airplay then. Awesome, the strength and power of songs to recall times, places and people in your mind. Thanks for the memories, boys.
Skeltons in the rafters and skanks on my lap. Eddington. Red death stains your shoes. Pigs waiting outside the golf course to give you a DUI. Denny's alcohol sponges at three AM. Waitressaurus and a hangover. Oh shes ugly.
I worked for music producer in Toronto when this album was released. We received this album to review....I told everyone I knew about it! love it! Thanks A's!
saw them @ the london victory club{ underage} and at the WYSP rambling raft race{the pagans fought the cops with chains...what a trip !! Hay I thought this tune was by Clarence Clemons? “Just kidding.” Of course no one does it better than Rocco. Richard and the A's. Excellent video over all. This must have been filmed by a Philly photography student or something, who else would have had equipment like that back then, right? Great memories guy’s, you were one of Philly's supreme rock bands. Thanks for the memories.
Reply | Not Spam Stern fans are trying to bury the facts.
Interesting fact: Over the holidays Sirius radio spent tons of money advertising Stern's
Result: According to subscribers who drive Fords. Stern is the only the 19th most listened to show on Sirius radio. Quite a come down. I actually think these guys STONE & Digita Dave have more listeners and talent than Stern
That's funny. The roadie for the band tried to pick me up at ambler tap room. Richard Bush made sure he looked right at me when I wear a heart designed sweater at christmas time "wont' you be my valentine..." great band, that whole crowd with beru revue, the hooters, tommy conwell. too bad philly rockers don't have much of a bandstage today...
@MikeLatoris Hey brother, I haven't heard the "Burlington Bristol Bridge" in years! Right by the Rome & Haas chemical factory, right? This video looks like it's from "Gene's" on the Roosevelt Blvd at 1 of many traffic circles.

Thanks so much for the memory. I had the album in '81 and it got destroyed. I could and still can sing every word. 'had to scour the vinly stores for years and found a copy in KC in '97 and burned it to CD. One of the best power pop bands.
Richard Bush (Lead Singer) has a new group called The Peace Creeps, they still play in and around Philly, check out their CD "Autumn of Love"He sent me a copy of the first A's CD which had the great songs "After last Night" and "A Heroes Work Is Never Done".
I remember walking home from school and stopping to listen to them practice on orthodox street in frankford. We would sit on the steps, and we'd be late getting home.
In the 80's I lived in Feltonville...we loved the local groups...The Hooters, Tommy Conwell...I used to go watch these guys practice right around the corner from my house....how about Robert Hazzard and the Heros...The A's....the 80's was the best decade EVER....specially the music!!
One of my favorite groups of all time. Thanks for posting this great video which I can't believe is up here. Still play my "Four Dances" LP from time to time.
Catcheez - Ramblin raft - hahaha. I have not thought of that day in 4-ever.My friends and I were 15 yro kids, we collected all those cans and bottles for like swag or a T-shirt (?) & got nada ! Then all heck broke loose. Good show and good times made it all worth it. A's were underated.

Nobody, not the Hooters, Robert Hazard, Beru Review, etc, could hang with the A's...as fine a band as ever was...this is great, Woman Got the Power would've been a number one hit on any other major label, but I'm pretty sure they were on Arista which just flat out dropped the ball with the A's...if so it was Clive's biggest blunder...
Saw 'em on a triple bill at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago with the Cramps and Talking Heads. The next night they played at Mothers, it was a Sun. and there were about 20 people in the audience. Great live band. I still have the 2 releases on vinyl. Got an indie EP as well.
