  • Love when they opened for the Ramones at Drexel in 19841

  • This song reminds me of the summer I spent in Avalon, New Jersey when in college. It was getting lots of airplay then. Awesome, the strength and power of songs to recall times, places and people in your mind. Thanks for the memories, boys.

  • the A's and Johnny and the Front Street Runners. Drag racing and music!!

  • Rockin the barn~

Skeltons in the rafters and skanks on my lap. Eddington. Red death stains your shoes. Pigs waiting outside the golf course to give you a DUI. Denny's alcohol sponges at three AM. Waitressaurus and a hangover. Oh shes ugly.

    Bensalem in the 80's

  • Richie Bush was the best!

  • Hay I thought this tune was by Clarence Clemons? “Just kidding.” Of course no one does it better than Rocco. Richard and the A's. Excellent video over all. This must have been filmed by a Philly photography student or something, who else would have had equipment like that back then, right? Great memories guy’s, you were one of Philly's supreme rock bands. Thanks for the memories.

  • Does anyone remember the Trendsetters? They opened for the A's a couple times.

  • The drummer's my teacher :D Yeah Mr. Snyder!!(:

  • who is this lead singer?? i bet hes a guido...cute

  • @phillygirl5968 Richard Bush is the lead singer for the A's. He's on FB if you want to become friends with him.

  • Looks like the Empire Rock Club!

  • haven't heard this song in a long time. too bad i didn't have fake id's to get in to see them in the early 80's.

  • don't be p-whipped.

  • Lol my music teacher is drummer.

  • Fantastic! Thanks!!

  • another Philly band that was fucking great !!!

  • That's funny. The roadie for the band tried to pick me up at ambler tap room. Richard Bush made sure he looked right at me when I wear a heart designed sweater at christmas time "wont' you be my valentine..." great band, that whole crowd with beru revue, the hooters, tommy conwell. too bad philly rockers don't have much of a bandstage today...

  • @maryfran2008 listen to the Peace Creeps....

  • U2 never played there, they were rumored to have played J C Dobbs

  • To lazy to read all the comments, was the show recorded at the Empire

  • You can now buy a re-release of both of the A's Arista albums on CD.

  • Wher was this Empire Rock ?

  • They used to play at The Anchorage Bar, just over the Burlington Bristol Bridge in Jersey. 2 dollar cover charge.

  • @MikeLatoris Hey brother, I haven't heard the "Burlington Bristol Bridge" in years! Right by the Rome & Haas chemical factory, right? This video looks like it's from "Gene's" on the Roosevelt Blvd at 1 of many traffic circles.

    Takes me back.

  • Steve Jobs why can't I buy the original on itunes? Great song.

  • I decided to by this record in the begining of 80:s, but I didn´t because of the studentmoneyproblemyouknow :-(. I haven´t heard this song until now. I have looking for this performence for a long time and suddenly I found it and what do you think guys, do I still love it....... Yes I still love it. I love youtube.

  • I thought it was the one of the dudes from the Hooters that wrote, with Cindy..

  • @diver6971 I think it was the hooters guys who wrote Time after Time for Cindy Lauper

  • O cara se acha o Elvis, né? Rídiculo!!!!

  • Thanks so much for the memory. I had the album in '81 and it got destroyed. I could and still can sing every word. 'had to scour the vinly stores for years and found a copy in KC in '97 and burned it to CD. One of the best power pop bands.

  • bate cabelo !!!!!!!!!

  • Richard Bush (Lead Singer) has a new group called The Peace Creeps, they still play in and around Philly, check out their CD "Autumn of Love"He sent me a copy of the first A's CD which had the great songs "After last Night" and "A Heroes Work Is Never Done".

  • my mom made me watch this! 0_o

  • I remember walking home from school and stopping to listen to them practice on orthodox street in frankford. We would sit on the steps, and we'd be late getting home.

  • This was my favorite A's song. Thanks for adding this here.

  • In the 80's I lived in Feltonville...we loved the local groups...The Hooters, Tommy Conwell...I used to go watch these guys practice right around the corner from my house....how about Robert Hazzard and the Heros...The A's....the 80's was the best decade EVER....specially the music!!

  • One of my favorite groups of all time. Thanks for posting this great video which I can't believe is up here. Still play my "Four Dances" LP from time to time.

  • anyone know where to get this stuff on cd? thanks.

  • I never thought I'd come across this again. Remember hearing this on the radio when I was 10 or 11. Thanks!!!

  • life long philly guy here in Ma. this video takes back. thannx

  • nadaaaa a ver com os remixs...que bacana!!!

  • WYSP ramblin raft

  • OMG!

  • Catcheez - Ramblin raft - hahaha. I have not thought of that day in 4-ever.My friends and I were 15 yro kids, we collected all those cans and bottles for like swag or a T-shirt (?) & got nada ! Then all heck broke loose. Good show and good times made it all worth it. A's were underated.

  • The A's were so damned under rated. If they had come along three years later the Hooters would have been a trivia question.

Clarence Clemons did a kick-ass version of this with The Redbank Rockers.

  • Richard is very Michael Huntchence like in this video.

  • where they at tonight

  • Cant wait to see the A's tonight at The Electric Factory with the Hooters! A Blast from the Past...

  • the drummer Mike Snyder is my Music Teacher

  • Who knew that Pricess Di was an A's fan! She looks entranced at the 2:37 mark.

    Great tune! Thanks for posting.

  • omg...brings back GREAT philly memories! RIP empire rock club....

  • Philly A's fans get ready for the reunion of the year at the Electric Factory November 21!!! The A's were, and always will be, the best band to come out of Philly....

  • This is awesome! I saw them way back when, and still think they are great. I have a cassette tape, and keep hoping for a CD. Thanks for posting

  • omg the drummer is my music teacher omg !!!!!!!! i thought he was lieing when he told me about this..........whoa ..... michael snyder rock on (he still look's the same....

  • He is a great drummer

  • That's probably my favorite comment from the videos I posted! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and yes he does rock!

  • Michael Snyder was my teacher too... Is he, like everyone's teacher?!

  • @sks532 Were did he teach? They were a big deal especially in Philly in the late 80's...there were hot...he probably had alot of groupies..they are/were goodlooking

  • Holy crap! The EMPIRE! That place was awesome. The two bad things now is that a) kids today have no idea what that scene is like and b) that place is long gone. RIP Empire Rock Club

  • Did we really look that ridiculous in the early 80s?

    :)

  • Nobody, not the Hooters, Robert Hazard, Beru Review, etc, could hang with the A's...as fine a band as ever was...this is great, Woman Got the Power would've been a number one hit on any other major label, but I'm pretty sure they were on Arista which just flat out dropped the ball with the A's...if so it was Clive's biggest blunder...

  • One of my all time favorite songs....these boys were a huge part of the late 70's and early 80's for me and my friends....rock on, Richard!

  • so jennifer holliday did a cover of this song???

  • OMG - the EMPIRE, now there's some memories. How about London Victory Club, Friendly Saloon, Emerald City...those were the days.

  • god Bless Richard Bush

  • Great Philly Band have everything on vinl

  • Philly's finest. I have all their recordings. Good music

  • Is this by chance Dave Humphrey's?

  • TrentMakz!!Thanks!!! You've made me soooooo happy!!

  • Saw 'em on a triple bill at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago with the Cramps and Talking Heads. The next night they played at Mothers, it was a Sun. and there were about 20 people in the audience. Great live band. I still have the 2 releases on vinyl. Got an indie EP as well.

  • I love this song!!! I still hear it once in a blue moon on 102.5 out of Reading. Thanks for posting it!!

  • Does anyone have any Beru revue another great band from Philly

  • Are you sure its not the empire rock room

  • I just checked out the tape I dubbed this from, it was from the Stone Balloon.

  • @silkcity19

I thought it was Gene's on the boulevard.

  • i'm still looking for that first a's lp on cd.anyone know how i can find it?

  • Man! You never know what treasures you'll find here! This is absolutely amazing!!! Thanks so much TrentMakz!!!

  • TrentMakz:

Do you know what club this video is from?

  • I think this was from The Stone Balloon or The Talley Ho in Delaware. (I'm still trying to find the VHS tape I dubbed it from!)

  • I was thinking the Stone Ballon. The stage looks a lot like the inside.

The Stone Ballon is gone. They just demolished the Stone Ballon recently. They are putting Condos there. (RIP Stone Ballon)

  • Great song. Reminds me of my days in Philly.
