Hey that's awesome! I've been wanting to become a traditional blacksmith, using the old way methods. I have some questions, What fuel are you using for your kiln? and do you know how the ancient blacksmiths built their kilns?
@TravelerWhereof actually i think the cobblestone would absorbe some of the heat so maybe put a fire sheild around the side of the forge to keep heat directed tward your metal
@oblivionboy1 I see. Another question, `if you don't mind. Building an old fashioned furnace, with bellows, what kind of stone or metal can a furnace be made of? I live where alot of large sand stone is, as well with piles of scrap metal of all kinds are.

@oblivionboy1 Thanks! that makes sense, coal helps hold the heat in. I wonder if putting some cobblestone in with the coal would help keep the heat?
