  • Dammit. You're absolutely right. Shredding pickless threw me

  • Lightning's part is played by Ry Cooder people. Different playing style entirely

  • @eldougliano - Ry Cooder played the slide guitar parts and was the soundtrack producer. Steve Vai played both sides of the final duel, which is shown in this clip (Paginini's Caprice #5).

  • And that is the way you should treat a charvel.....slinky jackson, what ever the hell it is.

  • long live the telecaster!

  • FYI: Both parts were recorded/played by Steve Vai. The winning version (by Daniel Ralph karate Lightening Boy Kid Luruso) in the movie, is the recorded version sped up by a 3rd. However, I'm still not sure where the dozen violins came from, which helped him with that final note!?!?!...... must be Willy's mojo hand doing it's thang!?!?!.

  • Actually if you see the movie "daniel" has been practising that the hole movie.... so its pretty impresive steve could do that at his first attemp

  • best film .....EVER !!!!!

  • Classic!

  • steve vai has the best face in the world for a guitar battle bad guy!...

  • fake horseshit

  • is that stevie vai??? i thought that he could play much better

  • @wow2818 lol you are stupid. of course he can play that. STEVE VAI recorded the piece that lightning boy is playing. it's just a movie. he acted.

  • Did Steve Vai beat Stevie Ray Vaughn? I thought so. But they both would have run like Hell if JIMI HENDRIX showed up!

  • lol steve played for both of them

  • NÃO É STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN

  • papagani's 5th caprice was the first solo

  • Vai wrote and played both solos in real life.

  • @ATLMember As jenarbey said, it's Steve Vai and Ry Codder. Steve Vai prob COULD play that solo, but Ry was the guy who actually did.

  • Comment removed

  • stve vai is only a big shit

  • YOU GUYS ARE ALL DOPES........ ITS STEVE VAI PLAYING BOTH PARTS,MACCHIO MIMICKING THE CLEANER SOLO.......

  • First of all, Steve Vai could play that with his left testicle. Secondly, as an extremely die hard Stevie Ray Vaughan fan, a curse on you.

  • absolutamente nada de Stevie Ray Vaughan, errou feio.

  • Legba wins! His laugh, no one can match that awesomeness.

  • noo...steve vai & ry cooder duel

  • Fake.

  • Listen to tender surrender (If you already haven't) Vai could play this with ease. And seriously? SRV WTF?

  • in realy was ry cooder how play for the karate kid, steve vai only plays paganini for daniel san.

  • poopy

  • Macchio sucks at fake playing

  • @1dillontaylor They gave him like 3 months of special training, just so would know where his hands should go

  • HOW DARE THEY! Stevie would never play that shit!

  • Pôxa meu! It was not the Stevie Ray Vaughan, but Joe Satriani.

  • @ricardospim its steve vay

  • @ricardospim nope...just Steve Vai...no satch in here

  • fender vince sempre

    fender win forever

  • A felvételen a fiatal csóka neve: Ralph Macchio. SRV szóba se jöhet..(több okból)

    üdv.:k.p.

On the uptake the name of the young jackdaw: Ralph Macchio.

  • A felvételen a fiatal csóka neve: Ralph Macchio. SRV szóba se jöhet..(több okból)

    üdv.:k.p.

  • the song Cooder (recorded by Steve) is Paganini 5th Caprice, if you dont believe, search for it.

  • @kjn5991 Yes it is!

  • I guess I'm gonna have to watch this movie!!!

  • that was gay

  • LOL Calm down dudes..who don't know how to play guitar. ..SRV was always the shit..U ain't got shit on him.

  • It was probably harder for Steve Vai to play it wrong than play it right...

  • the way he loses it , makes me sad

  • I can't even watch this because I can't stand to see Steve Vai mess up for some odd reason.

  • when i saw this movie, i thought it was malmsteen playing macchios part. i dont even listen to yngwie, but theres just something different about his playing

  • Right to put this to rest i was part of the sound crew on the guitar tech side of this movie and its all steve it was all done over a ten day period.

  • steve vai x Ry cooder

  • thats not stevie ray vaughan its ralph macchio and its yngwie malmsteen actually playing ralph macchios part

  • @birdword123 malmsteen had SFA to do with the movie. vai did guitar for both parts in the mid 80's

  • When Vaughan was 17, he met Albert King at a club, and mimiced everything Albert was playing, and Albert didn't like it one bit!! Guess this shows how it must have looked like....

  • is that really him cause like idk???

  • kind of pretentious....

  • SOME ONE CHANGED THE KEY! RAAAAHHHHH!!!

  • Anyone else feel they just have to turn this off as so as Vai has to go through the inexplicable loss of ability?? I find it excrutiating to watch...

Gimme Les Dawson on piano if you want to see properly executed musical cock ups ;)

  • I thought malmsteen played the classical part...hehe..vai must b rilly pissed off..

  • Where is SRV?

  • @thebigdiegowski Stevie Ray Vaughan had nothing to do with this movie.

  • откуда там взялся стиви рэй вон?))))

    невежы хреновы!!!

  • Comment removed

  • idk malmsteen and vai use picks and... isnt cooder black?

  • Stevie Ray did not play on this u piece of deceptive dog shit. Ry Cooder played opposite Steve Vai! Bitch!

  • impossible bend 1:55

  • I hope he wins Dancing with the stars this season,

    really nice guy.

  • LOL some one is playing a joke on us...SRV...Ahahahhahhahhaahaaa

  • what does stevie ray vaughn do in this

  • nothing to do with SRV

  • @brunogigliofreitas When Vaughan was 17, he met Albert King at a club, and mimiced everything Albert was playing, and Albert didn't like it one bit!! Guess this shows how it must have looked like....

  • daniel san

  • daniel san

  • This is ALL Steve Vai. It may sound a little like SRV, but that's not him.

  • so... Steve Vai beat himself, basically..?

  • Steve Vai is the only guitarist playing in this silly clip. And the notion that the only way to cut the blues is to revert to classical.... sillier still. Lightnin' Hopkins could have made the devil weep.

  • Hey...the two guitars was reorded by Steve Vai....

  • would a tele make me this good?

  • 1:11 melted face

  • Vai's song Jiboom was a tribute to SRV ala 'Scuttle Buttin" but shred style!

  • Hey, way to misrepresent your video, man! As soon as it started, I knew it was the headcutting scene fom that ridiculous "Crossroads" movie. Who the hell wants to see the Karate Kid pretend to play guitar? Hell, they had Ry Cooder play all Ralph Macchio's blues licks in this piece of garbage, and it's obvious that Vai is playing both parts when they start shredding. This movie is like "The Blues Brothers" movies - take out the music and you have a big, steaming pile of shit.

  • its actually steve vai playing both parts...cooder only plays the beginning blues stuff.....

  • @akolyte123 yeah. i wanna battle myself too, cus i cant loose lol

  • @akolyte123 The film was written by John Fusco and directed by Walter Hill and featured an original score featuring Ry Cooder and Steve Vai. Vai also appears in the film as the devil's guitar player in the climactic guitar duel.

  • @akolyte123 NO it is not Mr. Vai playing both parts...either.

  • It's Ry Cooder you idiots...

  • True Ry Coder not SRV

  • HEY MAN...THEY R......STEVE VAI & STEVE MARTIN.

  • Walk off stage fail

  • SRV?!?!?! This is Ry Cooder with Vai!

  • pause at 0:00

    did anyone say troll face?

  • kkkkkkkkkk mó legal

  • Ry Cooder not Vaughan silly

  • and the winner is... STEVE!

  • Not SRV on this, he was in rehab when this was recorded. Since when has classical guitar been in blues conplete twaddle!

  • Not SRV on this, he was in rehab when this was recorded.

  • 0:00 Fucking creepy ass laugh. *__*

  • All of you are stupid to say whos better S.R.V or Steve Vai, There both great guitarists and S.R.V was almost every famous guitar players Influence, but Steve Vai Devoloped a sound S.R.V couldnt even come up with if you watch his videos like "Tender Surrender" or "For the Love of God" Not saying Hes better but S.R.V couldnt play Steve Vai's stuff. There Different Styles also.

  • @LukeHeavyshield Youre right, but Steve Vai couldnt play Stevie Ray Vaughan's stuff either.

  • @dmb3305 True, They both have different styles ! :)

  • idiot! where is stevie ray vaughan?

  • if you look correctly you will see that he doesnt play it really.vai did everything in the studio

  • Omg this is not stevie ray vaughan ..

  • That's correct wavydavey; Vai did both parts

  • Actually Steve Vai did both parts on this scene,

  • who is who?

  • You guys dont play alot of guitar I can tell. These are just appegios mostly and a few straight runs here and there. Its really not that hard. The trick is playing it clean. Nothing crazy here

  • Steve Vai does movies? I'm sorry.. What? Huh?

  • Ry Cooder did most of the Crossroads soundtrack, but Vai recorded both parts of the duel sequence. So as far as this video goes, the question is... Vai or Vai?

  • @JimiWolverine1 THIS WAS ALL VAI, ALLEN ROTH DID ALL THE SLIDE.

  • Right now.. Vai is just beyond godlike.

  • stevie ray vaughn could beat steve vai with only one note

  • @PinkFloyd793 yes STEVIE WAS THE BEST GUITAR PLAYER EVER AND EVER AND EVER NO DOUBT

  • @PinkFloyd793 most true comment ever yah :D

  • Yeah I know Vai sucks at sucking...

  • Sweep the leg!

  • 1:52 - Yeah he bent so hard he fell; so dramatic haha. And I despise that woman's shrill at the end of the clip haha, I thought my eardrums burst.

  • SRV ???? Ry cooder

  • Ry Cooder, dumbass.

  • nao é o steve ray vaughan é o Ralph Macchio

ve se estuda antes de colocar besteiras !!!!!!!!!!!

  • classical music always sounds awesome on a fender electric guitar. but thats just me

  • you couldn't get that tone out of a telecaster if vai himself set up your rig

  • Is anyone know what is stevie playing on 0:14 ?

  • @saliniv2 that is not stevie ray vaughn. that is ralph maccio. with steve vai's arms. i have no idea where this retard got that that was stevie

  • same time on clock

  • don't watch a movie with me,if u want to escape in pure fantasy(bullshit)i tend to point out imperfections,if I worked in Hollywood,I'd be in "Continuation"i think is called that, where u make sure actors were in same spot facing same way, using same hand, under same shadow...etc...

  • hint:u can play higher than ur frets, steve, sry,is my curse,I notice mistakes, imperfections if u will.

  • SRV???????? hahahahahahahaha it is to laugh

  • @Bluessontlavie hey,ppl make mistakes,I'm sure u made a few...Nelson

  • @Bluessontlavie for real. if ralph maccio is Stevie Ray Vaughn. Im fuckin Satch

  • Vai should have swept the leg!

  • 0:50 realizes he can't groove on neoclassical

  • WTF THIS IS NOT SRV WHAT AN INSULT

  • IS THIS A MOVIE?? HAHA

  • It is Steve vai And Ry Cooder Not Steven Ray Vaughn

  • Отличный фильм. В своё время произвёл сильное впечатление.

  • what does srv have to do with this video??

  • Vai is more technically skilled, sure, but IMO, Vaughan makes better music. Because remember, technical skill really doesn't mean anything.

  • You do good Danielson!!!!!! Crane technique...No can defend

  • so fucking funny.

  • SRV ???

  • In a REAL dual, Steve Vai would destroy Vaughan, not to start an arguement but this is a movie and Vai is easily in the top 5 greatest guitarists in the world.

  • @MetalMakesMeEargasm um im sorry but anyone who has a normal ear knows what srv did was way better than what vai has ever accomplished

  • @metsjets315 Vai has accomplished WAY more,he is recognized as a MUCH better guitarist, Vaughan can't play shit compared to Vai.This movie is FAKE, Steve Vai perposly fucked up, I mean I laughed when I saw it Just look up steve Vai shredding or soloing, and you will see him playing way faster with ease.

And to anyone with a normal ear would be able to tell that Vai has a MUCH bigger range of playing and his talent level is far what Vaughans is, but I cant deny he was great. A great blues player

  • @MetalMakesMeEargasm when it comes to soul, vai can never beat vaughan, the speed n classical sound go to vai but when its soul, blues and fuckin ear rape of some parts its SRV, my opinion

  • @pepehorhae lmao playing slow doesnt make soul better, Listen to "For the love of God" by Steve Vai, Vaughan has soul but Vai blows him away.

  • @MetalMakesMeEargasm both vai and vaughan are amazing, but they have two completely different styles. you cant really compare them. vai can shred like no other but vaughan understood the style and sincerity of the blues better than anyone before or since. but like i said before, both are amazing musicians with their own unique styles.

  • @jtclark17 That I agree with, Vaughan is beast at blues, and Vai is one of the best in rock/metal

now lets just lol at the funny laugh at the beggining of the video :)

  • @MetalMakesMeEargasm hahahaha! yeah bro. good call!

  • @pepehorhae u do kno thats not Stevie right? cuz i agree. SRV is the greatest guitarist who ever lived. no one ever put that much soul into a guitar. guitar was his soul. RIP SRV

  • @pepehorhae You want to hear speed? Buckethead.

  • mr miagy taught u well

  • steve would never mess up on that easy ass riff lol

  • There is no best guitar player, just EVH, SRV and everyone else.

  • they both lost the game

  • yeah!!

  • Yeah! Screw you Steve Vai!

  • he sucks as karate kid but is even more sucky as guitar wannabee!

  • If by some time parodox steve vai evver dueled himself he would win. Period.
