@NDNSupport That isnt to assume that I never went back! I've made regular trips back home throughout my life, and even more so now that I live in US. And yes I know, I was just making the point is that he isnt being brave, hes being intelligent. If he made any direct confrontation with the government, he would be defeated and that means he loses his power. Ultimately thats all he wants, thats all he wants. Thats why Marcos is popular but his ideology isnt.

@NDNSupport The central problem is that revolutions have NEVER worked. Except for mabye 2-3, and NO Socialist or Anarchist revolutions have ever been successful in improving the lives of the people. I love my homeland, and I want to see it improve, but fighting isnt helping it, its only making it worse. Marcos isnt doing ANYTHING for the people, hes making their lives worse. Capitalism would be the thing to bring Chiapas out of poverty, letting people to make their own wealth for their community

He's more content with holeing up in small villeges outside government reach or care. And I was born in Mexico and lived there until the age of 2, then i moved to Germany until 12. Currently I live in United States. Chiapas is certainly not the best place but not because of the government.

Germany was under the heel of communism once, I dont want to see it happen to Mexico. Especially not the poorest of the Mexican people. THey dont know it, but the EZLN that supposedly fight for the natives of Mexico, want only to win glory for themselves and make their people worse off.

After WWII the Soviet occupied Eastern Germany and turned it into the Democratic Republic of Germany (DDR) which was horrible corrupted, puppeted by the USSR, and its people lived in poverty and malnutrition until German reunification. Other countries had to airlift food to the nation in order for its people not to starve. It was a Socialist nation, under a Communist regime. Do you even know German history?

And, I guess you could make an arguement that East Germany and the USSR were socialists, not full-flegded communisms, but I do know one example of communism failing. Jamestown colony in the 17th century. Jamestown was the first english colony in America. in the begining, they piled up and divived their harvests, foods, clothing and land among the people. This led to people not wanting to work as hard, and famine was regular.

@MisanthropicWaste In the jamestown system, everyone got equal shares of everything. There were no official governors, or leaders. However, since there was no incentive to work as hard, the colony was doomed until one man in the colony got the idea to allow people to keep what they made and provided, and worked for themselves and no man could take anothers property away with due process. These two things are known as Private Property rights, and Rule of Law. Combine them and you get..Capitalism

@MisanthropicWaste After these two pratices, Jamestown boomed, and they made enough food and materials to technically export them to England. This didnt happen, but they could have. Communism is simply inferior to private property rights and Rule of Law, meaning the government, and yes Communism HAS government, the people equally dividing up resources and managing prices and production, cant take away anything you produce. This is capitalism in its rawist form and its the only thing that works

@PesiCool No, I live a lovely life because my grandfather worked his whole life in different professions, including a boxer for 5 years, and a horse trainer for over 20 years, employing about 5 fellow Mexicans in Mexico and 3 more immigrant workers working to support their families in the US, and was able to allow his son, my father to inheirent what he worked for, and so on for him, until he could pass on his and his fathers fruits of labor onto me.

Thats what private property and the ability to work for a living and keep what you earn, private property, does. It creates wealth which allows other people to survive. And the world isnt running out of resources. We dont even know what other resources are out there. People didnt know oil was a vital resource until the 1900s, people threw it out.

We'll discover more and more resources as time goes on, history!. But the ability to keep what you earn is how humanity progresses. If my father wasnt allowed to keep the wealth his father made passed onto him, I would be in a worse position. It's the same for BILLIONS! Just because they made more money than they needed, doesnt mean that OTHER people are poorer because of it, quite the opposite in fact. Abolishing private property doesnt equally distribute wealth, it equally distributes poverty.

Currency today is a total deception. If you just look at how money is made you will know what I mean. When there is more money flowing around in the system it doesn't change anything in reality. We perceive it as growth and all that but what is really behind it all hasn't changed one bit. There will always be the same amount of resources, etc.. If we get passed that bullshit of currency we will be able to constantly build up the society.

@PesiCool What are you talking about? Currency is nothing more than something we use to prove we served our fellow man. Dont believe me? Mow a neighbors lawn and ask for 5 dollars in return. You go to a shop to buy some food or something in return and you present the money as proof that you served your fellow man and they give you what you need. And there will NOT always be the same amount of resources. New resources are found every decade or so.
