My friends pitbull used to clime her chain linked fence and one day his leg got caught in one of the holes and his leg ended getting broken. just please be careful when doing that. Such a beautiful, wouldn't want anything happening to him. Always he could hurt is back or legs from falling that high. just take that note. Great dog though! :)

lol thats dope!! at the pound over here in LA county one of the requirements to adopt a pit says that the pit has to have a back yard fenced with a 6 foot high fence or some kind of wall all around so the dog wont jump over.... one of my old buddies pit use to jump there 7 foot brick wall like nothin.. i look at the employee smirkd n shaked my head thinking they have no idea!!! lol

@OXXXTinaXXXO i hate to say but you may be misinformed about working dogs which pits are (why do you think they have so much energy?). they were bred to keep wolves/ coyotes away, protect the family, take a beating from a task and be happy about it. they are by far the most stubborn of any dog breed i have ever worked with, they enjoy a certain amount of physical task overcoming EXACTLY LIKE THIS. they enjoy it more then anything. further more they are a sturdy breed that doesnt injure easily

A tired Pit is a well behaved pit. Praising your Pit is also the key to a responsible pit & that is EXACTLY what this man is doing. I've fostered over 11 ABPTs, Amstaffs, Staffies & Bull Terier.(All genetically "pit bull".) with no Major incidents, but one nippy Alpha dog Chihuahua. I saw 1 in this vid & laughed. Becareful w/ the fence, K9's can also snag their collar on top causing strangulation. Also remember he might decide to follow u out one day. As for everything else, Excellent!

Do you get your foot stuck in a chain link fence when you try to climb it? No. Neither will a dog. My dog climbs fences all the time just for fun. I didn't even have to train it. The trick is training it to be WELL BEHAVED. It's not gonna break it's leg, calm down.

I have a Staffy who is NOT good with other animals, always wants to play but it usually ends in tears. However, when we are playing fetch with his fav ball, I swear a bitch in heat could walk past him and he wouldn't notice. He is totally focused on that ball. He's a wonderful dog and I love him to bits!!!

@NoRSoMaN My Bundy and the little 4kg maltese across the road decided to have a "disagreement". Fortunately, I was right there, grabbed him and told him to "SIT!!" then sent him home. Checked Lulu and she was fine but the next day, we discovered a 2inch scratch on his throat.. not deep enough to actually bleed but deep enough to show blood...know what I mean? looks like Lulu got lucky!! There are also people out there who's pits are very unstable and since they saw all these cool videos about pitbulls jumping fences on youtube...they want their pitbull to jump and climb fences too. These unstable pitbulls learning to jump fences are one of many problems that lead to the media ganging up on pitbulls (who are great dogs).
I don't mean to offend anyone or any dogs in my posts, I just want the best for them.
Encouraging your pitbull to jump and even climb the fence is what I disagree with. I know that a lot of people will tell me that their pitbulls are nice dogs...they would never one day jump over a fence and attack someone. I know that there are awsome pitbulls out there that would not hurt a fly no matter the circumstance but I believe that for the majority, there is the possibility under some circumstance that they can get sparked by something. I have to ask why people encourage their pitbulls to jump and climb fences? This question goes toward all breeds but I want to use pitbulls because I own a pitbull and love him. They are also the breeds in most of the videos on youtube (correct me if i'm wrong).
I know(maybe not) that people like to show off their pitbulls athletic abilities and I do have to say that being able to scale a tall fence is an accomplishment but I disagree with the idea. A fence is made to separate to sides.

@jeezyjaygee You can get a pit or/and rot and still keep the small dog. That is very kind of you to look after a strange dog. If you get a rott make sure to get the hips certified since hip displasia is a big issue within the rott breed. My family has had rotts for many years. They are great dogs although I don't find them as smart as pitbulls but they are still great family dogs.

He's a huge baby but he still protects me when I need him too. Although you need to be on top of their training and make sure they understand your the boss. @OXXXTinaXXXO i hate to say but you may be misinformed about working dogs which pits are (why do you think they have so much energy?). they were bred to keep wolves/ coyotes away, protect the family, take a beating from a task and be happy about it. they are by far the most stubborn of any dog breed i have ever worked with, they enjoy a certain amount of physical task overcoming EXACTLY LIKE THIS. they enjoy it more then anything. further more they are a sturdy breed that doesnt injure easily

@surleyguru it easyily possible for a pure apbt to weigh over 70 lbs, my pit weighs bout 65-70 lbs and whe turns a year old onthe 29th, her mother easily weighs in between 80-100, and her father is easily 110-120, all depends on the genetics and what you do with the dog. but majority or pits are under 65 lbs

A tired Pit is a well behaved pit. Praising your Pit is also the key to a responsible pit & that is EXACTLY what this man is doing. I've fostered over 11 ABPTs, Amstaffs, Staffies & Bull Terier.(All genetically "pit bull".) with no Major incidents, but one nippy Alpha dog Chihuahua. I saw 1 in this vid & laughed. Becareful w/ the fence, K9's can also snag their collar on top causing strangulation. Also remember he might decide to follow u out one day. As for everything else, Excellent!

Do you get your foot stuck in a chain link fence when you try to climb it? No. Neither will a dog. My dog climbs fences all the time just for fun. I didn't even have to train it. The trick is training it to be WELL BEHAVED. It's not gonna break it's leg, calm down.

I have a Staffy who is NOT good with other animals, always wants to play but it usually ends in tears. However, when we are playing fetch with his fav ball, I swear a bitch in heat could walk past him and he wouldn't notice. He is totally focused on that ball. He's a wonderful dog and I love him to bits!!!

@NoRSoMaN My Bundy and the little 4kg maltese across the road decided to have a "disagreement". Fortunately, I was right there, grabbed him and told him to "SIT!!" then sent him home. Checked Lulu and she was fine but the next day, we discovered a 2inch scratch on his throat.. not deep enough to actually bleed but deep enough to show blood...know what I mean? looks like Lulu got lucky!! I'd like to think that might teach him to play nice but I don't think he even noticed it!!

There are also people out there who's pits are very unstable and since they saw all these cool videos about pitbulls jumping fences on youtube...they want their pitbull to jump and climb fences too. These unstable pitbulls learning to jump fences are one of many problems that lead to the media ganging up on pitbulls (who are great dogs).
I don't mean to offend anyone or any dogs in my posts, I just want the best for them.

I know that a lot of people will tell me that their pitbulls are nice dogs...they would never one day jump over a fence and attack someone. I know that there are awsome pitbulls out there that would not hurt a fly no matter the circumstance but I believe that for the majority, there is the possibility under some circumstance that they can get sparked by something. I have to ask why people encourage their pitbulls to jump and climb fences? This question goes toward all breeds but I want to use pitbulls because I own a pitbull and love him. They are also the breeds in most of the videos on youtube (correct me if i'm wrong).
I know(maybe not) that people like to show off their pitbulls athletic abilities and I do have to say that being able to scale a tall fence is an accomplishment but I disagree with the idea. A fence is made to separate to sides.

@jeezyjaygee You can get a pit or/and rot and still keep the small dog. That is very kind of you to look after a strange dog. If you get a rott make sure to get the hips certified since hip displasia is a big issue within the rott breed. My family has had rotts for many years. They are great dogs although I don't find them as smart as pitbulls but they are still great family dogs.

He's a huge baby but he still protects me when I need him too. Although you need to be on top of their training and make sure they understand your the boss.
