Maiden is my all time favorite band and I love this cover. When I listen to a newer generation of musicians paying respect and tribute to their idols, this is what I want to hear. I don't want to hear the same structure with increased distortion and pop-punk vocals. I want to hear a band take a song from one of their inspirations and make it their own.

This cover totally meets all of my expectations.

I believe this is the best form of a cover you could get! Its much different from the original which is good because it shows they have creativity and like to put their own edge on stuff... I bet if Iron Maiden covered a ghostlines song you'd enjoy it if they put their iron maiden edge and style on it!

The beauty of Maiden is that their material translates well when it is stripped bare. This is a great song and although my personal taste is for how it appears on the album I think that anyone that who claims to appreciate Iron Maiden could not argue that this version also works.

I'm gonna go with either Avenged Sevenfold's "Flash of the Blade" or Trivium's "Iron Maiden." Machine Head did a good job with "Hallowed Be Thy Name" but it just didn't live up to the original. I actually like Fightstar's "Fear of the Dark" even though he seems to be singing "Fear of the Duck." I find it funny anyway.
