  • I wanna have sex with that bass.

  • you sure your not geddy lee? excellent job bro great tone and thats an awsome bass

  • Oh wow, i don't recall commenting on this, nor do I know why it sounds like english is my second language. I've since remove the pick up cover on my Ric.

  • Great Jam! I love the 'burp' of Rick basses.

  • great job!

    nice sound

  • Sound is good nut take off the pick cover, you get more intonation without it. Your missing a lot of fills in 2:10 and 4:16 of the song. Try staying in second hand position with your pinky on the F of the A string.

  • @1rushboy NO WAY! geddy never used a pick, EVER!

  • @gdawg116 NEVER USED A PICK INDEED!!

  • Try not to anchor your right thumb, ever. Use it to mute an E or A string, or enable yourself to move freely about for assorted tones.

  • Overall is good. But there are many incorrect parts. Especially during the solos. A little more attention and notice the errors. But overall, again, is good!

  • Flawless! Outstanding man. Pleasure to hear you play.

  • Your fingers look like a spider dude!!! Awesome!

  • Your fingers look like a spider dude!!!

  • I WANT THAT EXACT BASS but there rare now :(

  • @zackjp That's the 4003, and it's not rare, but it costs some insane amount :(

  • @zackjp they arnt rare, just expensive. Theyre also very picky with their dealers

  • @NapoleanXV i have 150$ used bass xD it really sounds like shit it is so bad

  • Dead nuts Lick for lick!!!!Right on GREAT JOB dude. You are my new bass IDOL

  • Great job!

  • Great effort! ex band member here, haven't owned a bass in 15+yr...never could play near you though!

Wanna play pool for money instead?! Hahahaha!

    All the best!

  • Thumbs up. Great bass playing. Great bass tone. Geddy Lee would be proud.

  • Good job!

  • yea, dude...now you're jammin! that was grand! 5 stars

  • nice song, great bass!!!! I invite you to see my version ;-)

  • Technical song...good job...nice fingerwork.Beautiful Rickenbacher bass.Geddy's original bass.Rock on man!

  • Geddy's original bass was a Fender Precision copy. He got the body cut so it's a tear-drop shape now.

  • this is one of my favorite rush songs to play on bass. making a recording would take a while. its a long song and it changes a bunch.

  • Sounds great! Well done....

  • sounds good!

  • nice bass love it

  • Man, great cover. Now how 'bout the vocals?

  • holy crap - can you imagine singing in addition to playing all these notes? Nicely done.

  • Great job man!

  • dont do any more posts until you get a decent bass!....just kidding that bass is beautiful....

  • is this a live version? if it is can you send me a copy.

  • It's the one from Permanent Waves actually. It might sound live to you because it is getting recorded through the camera microphone along with my bass.

  • 26 years ago, I could have been Geddy Lee's replacement. Even if he broke both of his arms. I think you just took over for me. Your're awesome , dude! Keep up the great work! I've got a Chris Squier Limited Edition 4001 (number 342). BUT! I I still want a Jetglow 4001/4003 like you've got. I'm jealous! Kepp rockin'!!!!!!!!!

  • wow it look alot like haruko's guitar (if u dot who haruko is, so look up FLCL on the google)

  • by far the best song ever made, by the best band ever. thanks for the great cover, you helped me learn the song :]

  • god u kick ass

  • Kick ass!

  • Impressive one.

Thank you for sharing this !

  • IIIIIIIIIIIIIII...............Like it!!!

  • what a amazing bass, good work dood!

  • That was great. Looks like you may have already figured out what you want to do when you grow up! Thanks for entertaining us.

  • You da man !!!!!!!!

  • Play along with something you like that isn't very fast or complicated. Add some more songs as you start to make progress. Eventually, you can add more difficult songs. The biggest thing is to enjoy the process. I like playing things over and over and getting a bit better each time

  • great job... when are you going to add Xanadu? :P

  • Rickenbackers are the dogs bollocks alright. I love them so much. Beautiful shape and killer tone that doesn't fail to give goose bumps.

  • Ahh, one of my favorite Rush songs. =) That's a tough one to play and you did it very well! I love playing this one on drums; I'm still working on it though. But anyway...

    Keep up the good work!

  • You play behind the pickup guard? I find that highly uncomfortable, so I play infront of it haha

    NIce playing!

I love to play this song too

Geddy puts some great fills in and they are fun to play too!

  • Yes, I usually play behind it. I liked the sound there better early on and it stuck. Sometimes I play infront too though. I'm used to it so I won't be removing it either.

  • A RICKY! Nice bass! And great tune. Rush is the best. :) Great job.

  • Excellent job, man. And that's all I have to say.

    You did great.

    Here's a little known fact:

That song was originally titled, "Sir Gawain And The Green Knight".

But the Olde English stylings didn't really jive with the 'modern sensilibity' feel of "Waves", so it was scrapped and rewritten to become Natural Science.

  • wow! just googled it, but i don't make the connection.

  • its def gotta b the audio cuz everything else sounds different. good job too.

  • Good job -- that's a tough song. I find your Ric tone closer to Jack Bruce's than Geddy's, though it may have to do with the audio recording.

  • I want that bass.

  • not that it matters, but i could never play with my thumb over the top...would drive me crazy...but if it works keep it up....nice job

  • nice bass

  • good job...good track....nice ricky

  • Nice! theres some more runs in there but you got almost all of of em' cheers, this is a hard song :)

  • I'm happy with the tone pretty much.

  • wonderful job - i recommend a little more "staccato" with your picking and you'll be a carbon-copy of Geddy

  • Not So Fast. There are some parts (particularly at the beginning jam) where the fingers should not be so "choppy"...they should be more fluid. This is a balance between staccato picking and "finger fretting". I would say never rely TOTALLY on the picking hand.

  • Nice instrument! Not seen someone playing one of them for ages! I've got a Fender Jazz fromm the states and a Mexican Fender Precision! Good Job on the Song! My favourite Rush tune! I think Im gna put up a version of me doing this song also (If that was ok with u) And we can compare! Yours is a different style to mine! But good job! Geddy Lee rocks

  • Nice Nice job. I like your style like scarred2112 said very nice postions, people sometimes forget the same notes appears more then once and some are closer then others lol. Kick ass bass too. I need to get the ricky with the toaster pickups. This is definetly my favorite youtube bass version.

  • Great positional playing - you're not running all over the fretboard wasting movement and therefore energy. Classic Ric tone as well.

  • Good job - 5 stars, & nice Rik too. Interesting to see how you play it compared to me. Cheers.

  • wow awesome

  • Nice Rickenbacker, you did an awesome job also. Keep it up
