One moment i'll be listening to beggars banquet thinking "this def is the stones best" then I'll start listening to something from Between the buttons and then i'll think to myself "this is the stones best work ever". The two albums sound way different from each other (between the buttons being an experimental psych album and Beggars being a return to form with more of a rural aura about) but I think both albums are the stones at their peak in which their transitioning.
Este es uno de los pocos temas que me gustan de los rolling. Please, no comparar con beatles. Rolling=espectaculo, muy bien. Beatles=arte. Hoy actuan en el geriatrico, y el de la bateria toca con dos bastones.
Dude People say the stones Were following the beatles, this sounds nothing like the beatles. This album from what I've heard so far is a masterpiece all on its own. A wonderful album. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!!! I probably like this album more than I like Sticky FIngers.
Keiths influence can be heard in most genres Today . There is no denying keef no matter The stripe keef wrote the book! If not for Keith where would rock have gone?nowhere! At least for me.I wouldnt know blues or so Many other types of music and i surely Wouldnt have my live music career this Girl wouldnt be paying the bills and would Never seen the world amd i Shudder to think what my life may have Turned into. And i never would have found The old eyeliner. And without it i dont Exist. Ta
this is very much like some other Stones songs. but it has a certain swing and a certain passionate sincerity that they only captured in their earlier years
i'm not sure what it is about this song, but i feel like i've known it all my life. even though i never heard it before 2010. maybe it's just the rhythm that sounds so familiar
What is so cool about this song is that if you listen to just the music, vocal and recording quality, it harkens back to the early recordings of the Stones, circa '63-'64, it seems to me. But when you hear the lyrics, it's very '67 with all the drug references and airport searches for said drugs.
@cracks21229 I agree. It also has a pop sensibility....I could see this being done by pop bands rather than the stones. Keith said this was his favorite Stones tune...which is interesting. I always thought the Stones were best when they did the blues and early rock sound.
Between the Buttons - Always been my favorite Stones album

Ramblin' Jack Elliott's version is all I hear when he sings. The original is fine too, of course.

Very simple and funny song, but i love it. There are two such songs in great album "between the buttons". Connection and My Obsession. Great album.

Great pic of Mick with the two instruments most conducive to the creation of great Rock n' Roll: An electric guitar and a switcblade.

Keith's favorite opus obscura. Kind of nice to focus on the rhythm guitar and dig the groove. Thanks for posting this.
