In 2010 China's military expenditure was $114,300,000,000 (2.2% of GDP).
US military expenditure in the same year was $687,105,000,000 (4.7% of GDP).
If military expenditure is cause for speculation and fear, should we not speculate on why US military expenditure is so high? Does the US spend so much just to have its toys of war sit idle?
And of course it isn't provocative at all that the US sells weapons to The Democratic Republic Of China while it also regularly provokes The People's Republic Of China by flying fighters into Chinese airspace (Oh yes you do).

Taiwan is part of China. Americans forget that The Democratic Republic Of China (Taiwan) and The People's Republic Of China are both, though somewhat estranged, parts of China. Hmm, even though China is building up its military for a possible invasion, I think most people are getting senselessly scared at this. Most Americans dont understand the capability and the raw power of the U.S. military. Yes, China may have advanced weapons, yes, they may have high tech weapons that other countries don't. But the weapons contractors look at what everyone else is packing, and make sure that we have the proper defenses and proper weaponry.
The company that I work for employs around 74,000 people world wide. They have had to settle for low grade steel because china is buying all the top grade steel, for their military equipment . This has been going on , I know for a fact since 2003 and has been increasing more every year.

Nice old video. Last week China was the first nation to give the USA an ultimatum since the 60's. Also in 2007 the defense department indicated that if america was in a conventional war against China we would loose. The US has dominated the world for half a century, and what do they do? They invade countries for pointless reasons, and they treat every other country as inferior.
An average Chinese person works 10 times harder than an American, yet gets 1/10 of the pay. There is a reason why America is sinking into debt, and China owes nothing to the US. Technically speaking, China is financing the Iraq/Afghanistan wars.

I'd be more worried about North Korea. They have the mentality to attack whoever they consider the enemy, and not dance around the subject. They will send missiles like a slap to the face.
China seems to only really care about what it considers "rightfully" chinese, or direct neighbours. They aren't by any means friendly, but I can't see them as a direct threat. However, that could very quickly change if there is a conflict of intrests.
At least they don't have a first strike policy on nukes.

Simply put they lost more but that didn't matter the American public was disheartened by such "high" loss of life. Vietnam we had no underlying reason for war. I've worked, argued with, had dinner with, and dialogued with Chinese people for years. Hmm, even though China is building up its military for a possible invasion, I think most people are getting senselessly scared at this. Most Americans dont understand the capability and the raw power of the U.S. military. Yes, China may have advanced weapons, yes, they may have high tech weapons that other countries don't. But the weapons contractors look at what everyone else is packing, and make sure that we have the proper defenses and proper weaponry.

The United States needs to make use of its allies nearby China in order to contain the threat that they pose, India is a serious power and a ally of ours, Japan is also, Australia is also a champion of democracy and strategically located and of course Israel is the most powerfull country in the middle east that we are allied with.
I just hope that Obama doesnt end up no longer supporting Israel because that would confirm that he is the antichrist.

China wants control of Taiwan and is willing to invade, the united states is not willing to stand in their way.
North Korea wants control of South Korea because of their resources, it makes sense for them to try to invade and force a reunification, together China and Korea can accomplish their goals at our expense.
Also both Iran and Russia want to dominate Israel, there is a lot of potential for trouble and the united states is caught in the crossfire.

not to put your message down, but you know that even though it is speculated that China may spend up to 70 billion dollars on its military each year, it is also true that the United States spends up to $420 billion - that's more than what half the world spends.
Sometimes officials in the pentegon tend to exagerate to justify military spending on new defense and weapons systems. Not to blame them - we all need to work.
