Mir seems like he's an excellent teacher, I never cared whether he won or lost before but my views on him have changed a little for the better seeing these videos.
I would pay so mcuh to get one on one training with Mir for a week/month.even if its just going to watch him train in his gym but these top fighterd are always training busy and secretively for huge fights.. :(
I used to not like Mir at all put after watching this Mir series he is an outstanding teacher and I will take a lot more interest in his fights for now on! Great posts
Learnt so much by watching these, just by listening to how he does it, obviously watching but like he said in the first part. its all based on principles. and he teaches the principles and shows you how they work in a real situation, rather than this is how to do a triangle, if they escape.... well try something else, he shows how a submission escape can work in your favour regardless. fantastic series. Mir is an awesome teacher.
I don't know why people want to leave negative remarks, when Frank is obviously a very knowledgeable instructor. If people disagree or dislike the video, then don't watch it!
JUst like to take the opportunity to send out a big thankyou to Submissions 101 and in particularly Ari Bolden for sharing there knowledge of jiu-jitsu you guys have converted me to BJJ awesome martial art. Keep up the good work
@BigaznPARK Brock probably wouldn't use the guard pass to get out of the triangle anyway. If he did, there's no reason it wouldn't work. However, with Brock's speed and athleticism, getting his back like that wouldn't be such a cakewalk.
If he can get crocop on the ground, which is not the hardest thing to do, he will have a huge advantage. That said, Mir hasnt lasted to long in his last few fights. CroCop is a much better fight for him than Nog would have been.
Same exact concept applies when your opponent uses a single or double under pass to pass your guard.

When Frank fails a sub in the first 10 seconds of being on his back he gets stuck in side control and pounded out. Rinse and repeat.
Good technique though
