I really did use to hate him but through Christ I was able to let go of my anger and just move on. As long as I had a Father in Heaven, I didn't need him. My mom was more of a father than he ever was. But it's ok. I have God, my family, and my friends to get me through each day. Not to mention Nirvana being blasted through my speakers lol! =)

@xBenjaxGuitar It means that he wanted to have a father who spent time with him and did fatherly things with his son and was involved in his life. Throwing the ball, coaching little league whatever. Instead he had a "dad" who was physically there but not really mentally, not involved in sons life, put a roof over his head but beyond that was not there for him or did not do fatherly things with his son. That is how I interpret the line, doesn't mean its 100 percent correct but I suspect it is.
