Can someone tell me why Japanese government started cracking down on street rock performers?? It's one of their tourist attractions(I think), it brings money into their country and it's good for the dreamers in japan as well:p
@kzundiverus Uh, they are playing on the sidewalk. You kinda gotta walk in front of them if your trying to get somewhere. I do MISS those live Harajuku bands greatly. GREATLY.
Thanks for the info! I have seen the bands that setup near the South and South East exits and I have a few old videos from the East exit. However, the bands that played on the weekends around Yoyogi made it easy to find new bands every week. Now that they have (temporarily?) killed that scene, it's harder to find new material to post every week. I can't understand why the government would shut down the bands when they are so popular and they bring people to the area. Strange!
shut down bands? really? i live here and see like 2 bands a night (and by day) usually by the south exit...but maybe you have footage on those bands. cool stuff.
Some people think the Yoyogi band ban might be because of the Olympics bid, but no one knows for sure. No matter the reason, it's sad for them to kill free harmless fun for young Japanese people and tourists. Thanks again for the Shinjuku info.

hey do you film a lot around shinjuku? there are tons of cool street performers out by the east and west exits of the station.
