Have you done the mute mod to your radio! It sure make it easier to listen to as you turn the dial! Nice radio

@KC8YOQ Yes, I did! It makes all the difference, I couldn't imagine using it for scanning the way it was originally.

@iankasley Wow i didn't think it would make that much difference BUT it sure does. Mine quit working on battery power alone! Do you know how to fix that? My dial light also is out BUT I love the radio!

@KC8YOQ Hmm, not sure... I haven't had that issue with mine, but I do have the service manual for it as a PDF. (actually it's for the Sangean ATS-818CS, but it's the same thing) Shoot me a private message on here and I'll figure out a way to get it to you.

@iankasley Well i found out what happened! Someone that owned the radio before me has changed the radio over to 9v tip positive. It now will no longer work on 6v. The 4 batteries that it holds only equals 6volts. I am going to make a 9 volt external battery pack for it so I can take it on SWL expeditions!!

I could listen to it all day... LOL But seriously, it does have a kind of hypnotic effect. I've heard it from time to time depending on conditions here in Dublin, Ireland. Are WWV and WWVH on the same frequency?

Descent signal from both. Living in CA I can often hear both stations on 5 MHz and 10 MHz. Kinda cool. Thanks for the recording!!
