The first time I saw No Regret...I was not too sure of what I saw. I truly and still don't like the sequences of them taking him to bury him alive!!! U don't love someone and then try to kill that person..and THEN all of sudden LOVE him again...I think that could of been handle differently and a lot better....BUT......I get it all. IT IS two different backgrounds coming together...AND how they over all..including MOM to show their love...IT is beautifully photographed...

I truly liked No Regret...IT was beautiful done...But it seems in Gay films..ie...Bangkok Love Story..Eternal Summer, and other..WHY do the directors want to inflict so much PAIN on these Gay Love Stories? as far as the movie went, I really enjoyed it, but I felt the ending was a disappointment. I don't wanna give anything away for anyone reading who hasn't seen it, but there were some moments that were incongruous e.g. the scene where one of them is 'digging' - what was that all about?

I have seen this movie twice now and as a straight woman I just absolutely love it. Definitely up there with my faves.

The sad truth is a lot of the films out there usually have such sad and unhappy endings that when you find one such as this or Shelter or Latter Days you really appreciate the artistry and the storytelling.

Its a really sad story about self hate and horrible family ties.

Its also very interesting how the script writers and the director use culture as a type of excuse for this type of self-hate and family involvement, portraying it as normal and somehow acceptable to the characters.

If someone has the right to do that, then that is Europe, with our horrible homophobic Christian tradition. The most homophobic of all traditions.

I dont believe their culture is a good excuse to be used in a movie.

i can't say i fully agree with you.

first of all, islam doesn't accept homosexuality either. and neither does christianity, but i don't think we europeans are that homophobic, most of us aren't even strict/real christians (at least, where i live).

and second, in south-korea male x male skinship may be very common, but Koreans in general are really homophobic; they often even deny that there are gay koreans. so i think the culture-aspect in the movie is very relevant.
