Tidus is a memory of what zanarkand was before sin. He's a dream of the fayth.

Shuyin is a real person who lived back then. So what I assume is that Tidus is the memory of him.

Yuna is not Lenne, but they may be related (in family) or something? :P

Tidus is with Yuna beacuse Jecht was with Braska.. and so on. There's little details you gotta look for during both gameplays to be able to tell... :P

Shuyin is from the past, yes. He was a Guardian to the summoner, Lenne. He was wanting to protect her, but he instead used something he thought would win the war, but it caused him to lose himself and Lenne. He haunts the present because he felt he was the reason for Lenne's death, and he wasn't at rest. Tidus is meant to be a reincarnation of him, as Yuna is of Lenne.
