Russia produced dozens of millions of the bloody things, and when the USSR collappsed they got thrown out all over the hemisphere, so everyone in the area has Russian stuff. Doesn't mean Russia supportst hem.
@darkon112 One of Russia's main problems was that they (Spetsnaz included) thought they could crush the Afghanis resistance by using extreme violence. US Army Special Forces have NEVER had an overt policy anywhere near as indiscriminately violent as the Spetsnaz had in Afghanistan. It solidified the resistance and led to them getting much higher casualty rates than we have now. You can argue against that, but I won't waste my time explaining it further.

before you go dickriding the spetnaz, the most comparable conflict would be Afghanistan. look at how the americans treated it vs the russians. which has been more successful so far? look at Spetnaz vs Army Special Forces casualties. Look at Russian vs American war crimes in the region. If you do you'll see that Green Berets are clearly better in modern warfare.
Not trying to cause an argument, but the US pretty much has all of NATO backing it, from Britain to Germany and pretty much all in between. The USSR only had itself and a few countries under its control such as Ukraine in Afghanistan. It's no surprise that with such manpower and firepower behind the US that Afghanistan is being won now. You also have to remember, NATO (Mainly the US) supplied the Mujahideen/Taliban with weaponry from 79 to 89.
Not comparable at all the force you are facing in Afghanistan now isn't the same anymore. they ain't receiving any intelligence, material/weapon supplies or training from any foreign force apart from some groups in Pakistan. And Russia like faced/ fought x100 more combatants than what the coalition is up against now.

At the beginning of the video you can see Russian Airborne troops (VDV). They aren`t special forces in Russia. It is Assault Troops. They have trainings like american marines and it is elite forces. Spetsnaz is most elite forces of Russian army
its not a shitty round, the M15's bullets can cut through sheet metal like it was butter, ive shot it at a piece if metal used to make cars and it went through easily
A .22 bullet will go through one side of a car door and out the other, as will just about any pistol round. So that's a pretty poor test.
Yes, the 5.56 is a shitty round for warfare. It's an excellent round for light game hunting, police use, and fun.
But it has very little stopping power against psyched targets, and horrible penetrative ability. It won't go through any real cover. Cars aren't any cover at all.
extra stopping power doesn't do much if you can't hit the broadside of a barn. I've fired both ak-47 and an older version of the m16. i put 8 rounds in 6 foot target at 200 yards with the m16. only 2 with the ak
No offense mate, but either you're a very bad shot or you were firing those old AKMs back from the days of the Korean war. Those things fire at about 4 MOA, which means you should have been able of hitting 8 inch groups at 200 yards. I'm guessing you weren't firing from a benchrest, so you wouldn't hit crap at that range true.
But modern AKs, anything based off the AK-74M, all fire at sub 2MOA. That's just as accurate as any M16.

have you ever even fired an m16a2? or an m16A1? it's low tech, easy to maintain, best firepower in the world, nobody survives a shot from an m16 to the chest and lives to tell about it, it's a tumbling bullet. extremely accurate for its high rate of fire, easily mass produced like almost every weapon in the world at this point, extremely reliable since it's changes in the past 55 years. it's the ultimate weapon. i've never fired an AK-47 so i don't know about that, but the m16 isn't a toy

5x45 has better penetrate ability than 7.62, but less stopping power by hit. But I think better to make a hole in body of your enemy than just sotp him lol

But from what I've researched, I think the 7.62 will penetrate better if the rounds used are plain old lead core, but the Russians issue AP bullets for typical use, so their 45s go through more stuff.

@darkon112 One of Russia's main problems was that they (Spetsnaz included) thought they could crush the Afghanis resistance by using extreme violence. US Army Special Forces have NEVER had an overt policy anywhere near as indiscriminately violent as the Spetsnaz had in Afghanistan. It solidified the resistance and led to them getting much higher casualty rates than we have now. You can argue against that, but I won't waste my time explaining it further.

before you go dickriding the spetnaz, the most comparable conflict would be Afghanistan. look at how the americans treated it vs the russians. which has been more successful so far? look at Spetnaz vs Army Special Forces casualties. Look at Russian vs American war crimes in the region. If you do you'll see that Green Berets are clearly better in modern warfare.

Not trying to cause an argument, but the US pretty much has all of NATO backing it, from Britain to Germany and pretty much all in between. The USSR only had itself and a few countries under its control such as Ukraine in Afghanistan. It's no surprise that with such manpower and firepower behind the US that Afghanistan is being won now. You also have to remember, NATO (Mainly the US) supplied the Mujahideen/Taliban with weaponry from 79 to 89.

Not comparable at all the force you are facing in Afghanistan now isn't the same anymore. they ain't receiving any intelligence, material/weapon supplies or training from any foreign force apart from some groups in Pakistan. A .22 bullet will go through one side of a car door and out the other, as will just about any pistol round. So that's a pretty poor test.
Yes, the 5.56 is a shitty round for warfare. It's an excellent round for light game hunting, police use, and fun.
But it has very little stopping power against psyched targets, and horrible penetrative ability. It won't go through any real cover. Cars aren't any cover at all.

No offense mate, but either you're a very bad shot or you were firing those old AKMs back from the days of the Korean war. Those things fire at about 4 MOA, which means you should have been able of hitting 8 inch groups at 200 yards. I'm guessing you weren't firing from a benchrest, so you wouldn't hit crap at that range true.
But modern AKs, anything based off the AK-74M, all fire at sub 2MOA. That's just as accurate as any M16.

have you ever even fired an m16a2? or an m16A1? it's low tech, easy to maintain, best firepower in the world, nobody survives a shot from an m16 to the chest and lives to tell about it, it's a tumbling bullet. extremely accurate for its high rate of fire, easily mass produced like almost every weapon in the world at this point, extremely reliable since it's changes in the past 55 years. it's the ultimate weapon. i've never fired an AK-47 so i don't know about that, but the m16 isn't a toy

The M16 is a very high maintenance weapon, and not easier to maintain than most any other rifle out there.
HUNDREDS of people have taken 5.56s and not gone down. It's a weak, low powered, shitty round. It has a 17% jam rate in dust conditions by US Army trials.

It has the exact same operating system, the exact same trigger assembly. Nothing's changed.
It has a 17% jam rate in dust environments, as proven by US Army trials, (Think it was back in '07 or '06).
No one survives getting shot by anything in the chest unless treated.

But from what I've researched, I think the 7.62 will penetrate better if the rounds used are plain old lead core, but the Russians issue AP bullets for typical use, so their 45s go through more stuff.

And if you search carefully you´ll notice that a "martial art" doesnt" need tradition...Not anymore... there are lots of new styles emerging everyday... First of all Krav isn't considered a Martial Art because there is no *tradition* about it.
Second of all, I was outlining the styles that those countries teach. Stupidass 25 year old needs to think before he speaks because if you look closely, none of those should be considered "martial arts". Moreso, they should be Combatives since there is no long-standing tradition.
