Slavs were considered sub-human and the USSR was filled with other races they called "Mongoloid" and "Asiatic hordes" who would rape and destroy Germany. (The irony here is that many, many Soviet troops did exactly that.)

Cartoon Network had a program called Toon Heads that showed different types of cartoons based on topic, and then they would have folks talk about them. I see nothing wrong with airing this on TV. We were engaged in a War, and a little bit of cartoons that were mocking our enemies isnt a bad thing. Also I forgot to mention that these are great peices of art, and show our history.

As well, you have to remember these were war years, people worked harder, there was food rationing, and we'd just gotten out of the Depression.
