I visited Sleepy Hollow, enjoyed a historical walk through the dutch burying ground and the plantation across the street followed by lunch in a nearby pub. If you think its boring than you are lacking in cultural curiosity. you are probably going to be disappointed not to find the headless horseman, like all the hordes that descend on Salem MA looking for witches.
@oOoOMEGAMIOoOo thats not even the actual houes that they show. only in the part where they show the cars driving by in the begining and tht street barely hav any houses on it in tht part. the other houses r philipseburg manor and thts just a tourist thing
WOAH !! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS,SERIOUSLY !i thought that headless horseman thing just came from Tim Burton's mind .. and Ichabod Crane was not really true ... i just can't believe this !! wattttttaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !!
@guitardrumskate fuck off, our town is the only town around that you can do something, ossining is too ghetto, and irvington and briarcliff are just way too white and rich, so dead over there, yonkers is the closest place where you'll find something fun to do other than in Sleepy, plus girls in this town are hotter just saying
i would love to go to sleepy hoollow and face the legendary horseman and you know the head that is missing from the horsemen it is his weakness without the head the horse men can be killed by destroying the head
Why is it that Tarantinos rock so much? The storyteller reminds me of the English teacher on Beavis & Butthead but much more interesting. LOL. I'm going next year!
Thanks for posting. I love the story of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman and would love to visit the real Sleepy Hollow someday. Looks like a beautiful little town.
The "Headless Horseman" goes back to Ireland, and the legend of the Dullahan, a headless specter who roams the countryside upon a headless horse, foretelling an approaching death. But rather than a Jack O'Latern, he carries his own severed head, with skin the consistency of moldy cheese, and it speaks the name of those who shall soon die. Neat, ain't it?
@rainewater85 Actually, Salem, Mass is not the home of most witches and most of the witch trials did not take place there. It was in a little town a little ways away that used to be called Salem but is now called some other name I can't remember. I learned this at a witch seminar. I know what you're thinking, WITCH GEEK!!!
@TheLouisaGirl <<< They took place in Salem Village which are now known as Danvers/Peabody MA now. I live in Danvers. Modern Salem was called Salem Town
Question: What if the headless horseman is not actual one man but two. Because people back then wear cape and large coat. So it's easy to conceal two people. So what if one person is steering while the other is holding the pumpkin head?
sleepy hollow is the most fasicnated stories on the planet and so i think i will go there one day and inestigated it myself and hiopfully have a glimps of the headless horsemen myself
For the record, Jonathan Kruk is NOT gay. He is my darling husband and we are happily married and deeply in love. Best not to judge people without knowing the truth.
I'm sure someone will sometime in the future, wheither it's for film or TV, classic stories like this always have a life of their own and are always good for retelling over the years.
Did you see that it says this town is the same as it was in the 1700-1800's but there was a black guy walking around with clothes on and walking an animal.sssp not
can anyone tell me what country should i put so this video wont copyright issue cause i cant play some of videos.. i've put united states and still some videos has copyright restrictions..
@onemooreperson: Dutch settlers would have your head--pardon the pun--for that. The reason they even told the legend was because they believed in evil spirits and things. In Tarry Town, it was perceived that a true witch or two did exist way back when the story was conceived and it was these old wives tales that inspired Irving to write the story. And since the characters were based off of real people, whose is to say that the legend DIDN'T happen?
My great grandmother was born in the 1800's and was crossing the bridge as a young girl and she heard the sounds of the horse galloping across the bridge. she told the story to my mother.
