Wonderful....I can still hear the Indian roots in voice and music. I once read a book where it was told, that the Roma started their long journey after they lost a brother war in Kshetriya. Also in the religion you find a perfect mix of christian, gnostic, indian, egyptian influence...or maybe the other way round :-)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that homeland of all European gypsies was somewhere around India. Actually, they are one part of Indian tribes that started migrating thousends of years ago, cause of some wars, I belive.

Yes, Romani/Roma people are originally from Northwest India. They were acctually kicked out from their homeland by another tribe who thought they were superior. Dr. Ian Hancock is a linguist, Romani scholar, and political advocate for the Romani people. Good place to start for anybody who wants to learn more.

@CIKMASTER I think she is a Muslim but I am not sure. Many Roma people in Balkans converted to Islam after Turks occupied the region for centuries. Almost all of them have Turkish names and speak Turkish as well. That's what I know and observed when I travelled in Macedonia and other Balkan countries. Cheers. Metin
