  • two thumbs up!

  • Welles, obviously, was a genius. Why they're still sitting on these unreleased, unfinished films is puzzling. I have a VHS copy of the 'dreadful edit' Rosenbaum refers to. He's right. This clip w/ Patty McCormick isn't in there. It's a shame. Someone competent person should do a decent edit of this,

  • Podrias traducirlo al castellano?

  • In following online the history of the edits I just caught up with your 10/17 blog entry and replies to comments, which led to details of your book. Sounds like my kind of research. Ive ordered DOW and am off to sit beside the mailbox - thanks again.

  • I've never seen that footage - didnt know it existed, let alone was edited. What a great idea, Sancho and Don Q at the movies! And how funny to keep P. McCormick in the Bad Seed braids.

I'm now reading about the Costa-Gavras edit and reviews of the versions shown in the '90s. Thanks so much for posting this! - andelu

  • We love Spanish food! Tacos, burritos, nachos, especially with a Corona beer it's good.

  • That's MEXICAN food, not spanish, for Christ's sake! It's incredible that, after all this years, you americans still confuse Spain with Mexico.

  • xgocadiz, you left Velazquez off your list of artists:) I'm learning about your country (especially interested in 1479-1720) and appreciate the info on your youtube page very much.

  • Hi, thank you for your generous post.

And Orson was great, of course.

(Only 1 thing: It´s "Andalucía", not Andelusia).

  • "Andelusia" = not an attempt to spell Andalucia, but thanks for the help :)

  • Welles shot a lot of his work silent, adding sound later during editing (it is particularly noticable on the independent productions, but he worked the same way on the Hollywood studio films where he had the resources to do it right)

  • This is very noticable in Othello, The Trial and Chimes at Midnight. Also, in these films he dubbed a lot of voices instead of re-hiring the actors with smaller parts to do it.

  • ...start the b&w movie at the same time as dark side of the moon track 8...

  • what film?

  • brain damage? i did it and don't get it...

  • Shit Don't Work.

  • Woops I mean Les Carabiniers of course.

  • Cool this reminds of the the scene in Le Petit Soldat where he tries to get the woman on screen.
