  • This was beautiful. I'm self teaching this song to myself. My teacher was hired for an annual gig. I love this song in a faster tempo. The speed accompany's the fast, flirtatious character singing this song. Not Brit, the original person...lol. Again great job. Gotta learn the words a lot better to sing them in Italian that quickly....but i love a good challenge.

  • seriously, who would put a 'thumbs down' to this?? WOW this is AMAZZZZING! :)

  • Thank you for the compliment, that is really nice of you! I'll be sure to let Brittany know your comment!

  • Gorgeous!! Love the faster tempo!!

  • Thank you for the compliment! I like the pace a little faster too. More engaging, in my opinion. I'll pass your compliment along to Brittany! Thanks again!

  • Very nice!! With her voice, it makes me like the faster tempo. Thanks for sharing

  • Thanks for the compliment! I'll pass it along!

  • very nice voice

  • Thank you so much! I'll let Brittany know your compliment!

  • Absolutely lovely voice! Bravo! You need to relax a little, you're a bit stiff up there, have fun with it. Art is an expression of joy, not a terror. Slow down a bit in a few parts. Allow your spirit, your character to flow through the music.

Jesus gave you this gift, use it wisely. You are highly favored.

    In Him, Mary

  • Thank you, this is a really nice compliment and a perfect example of constructive criticism. Brittany wanted me to pass along her appreciation for your comment! God Bless!

  • hi i like your color voice, but i would like to listen you slower than thiss version, i posted my version ...im just starting my liric studies =) maybe you can suggest me something=) good luck! brava!

  • Brittany is very flattered that you asked for her help and said she would try to get a chance to listen to your videos to see if she could give you any pointers. Good Luck! Thanks for your comment!

  • Her vowels are suppose to be like that. This song was song is meant to be lighter so she cant have the darker vowels. well she could have more south space but she cant darken them it wont sound ruight if its to dark

  • Thank you! I appreciate the comment!!

  • I saw this video and I was like... wow she sounds just like me when i was in high school... and she looks like me lol. She has a beautiful voice! :-) But I do agree... she does need more vowels. I disagree with the person who said she needs to slow down. She sang it wonderfully. I sang it just as fast when I performed it. I do think that O cessate di piagarme would be a great song choice for her as well.

  • Thanks for the song suggestion, I'll have to mention that to Brittany and I'll pass along your compliment. They say everyone has a twin somewhere out there!

  • Ok, well I just won't comment on your videos anymore.

  • You're welcome to comment on any of the videos, and you can see that in the past I've not deleted some comments that were critical. I just thought it was strange that you would ask for a favor in the same breath as being critical. You usually catch more bees with honey than you do vinegar. Brittany said she would ask if anyone still had the sheet music and we'll get back to you if we do.

  • Ok well thank you. Instead of just making two comments i made one with 2 things, I'll just make 2 comments for 2 things in the future.

  • I think you're missing the point. If you're going to ask someone for a favor, skip the criticism, period. Especially when it's unsolicited. Brittany still has to check another spot for the music. I'll let you know if she has it.

  • She needs to slow down just a bit. And just sound a little more like the song with the italian vowels. But overall, nice job.

By any chance, do you have any sheet music for this song on piano?? I have a friend that wants to sing it and I want to play. tanks

  • That certainly is a strange way of asking for a favor, by being critical and then throwing in a conciliatory "nice job". I'm sorry but Brittany no longer has the sheet music.

  • better vowels.

if she'd do that she'd sound better.

and she needs to lift her soft pallet more.

but other than that, she has a really beautiful voice.

  • Thank you, I'll pass the compliment part of your comment on to Brittany.

  • hey awesome solo. I'm singing it too, in the end of January. Any tips? Thx

  • Thanks for the compliment! Brittany says that the one criticism she gets often is that she didn't express enough emotion, she also said to sing BIG. I don't know what that means and she didn't elaborate, so I hope this helps :) Thanks again!

  • Thats amazing

    :D

  • Hey, Thank You! I'll let Brittany know your compliment!

  • wow, you have an amazing voice.

wish i could sing that good :)

    song is beautiful.

  • That is really nice of you! Thank you very much! I'll pass your comment on to Brittany, I'm sure she'll appreciate it! Thanks again!

  • great solo! this was my solo my senior year at CRHS too! :);) how cool :) -nikki s.

  • That's cool, I didn't realize that. This was from 2007. The oldest stuff I have is 2005 but I think you graduated in 2003, right? I got my digital camera that year so that's the oldest stuff we have, sorry...Funny that I just saw you the other day too!

  • I am very delighted to listen to this video. A re you now in Medicine? I'm also a singer and I am planing to go on academy after I get degree:-) All the best:-)

  • Thank you for the comment! She has a job in the Emergency Room at a local hospital while she is in school working toward becoming a Nuclear Medicine Tech. All the best to you too!

  • i have to learn this song for an audition, and listening to this is really helping. and she is amazing, honestly. her technique is impecable. i would be extremely happy if i could sing this even half as good as her!

  • Wow, thank you so much for your compliment! I will definitely let Brittany read this one herself! Good luck with your audition!

  • Wow, I wish I could pronounce "Ma de-gliu-omi-niil consiglio" as well as she did ^^' I'm singing this song right now, and those "gy"/"yeh" sounds you're supposed to make are just /impossible/ for me right now. It sounds like I'm trying to gargle with rocks X_x'

She did an amazing job on this song.

  • Wow! Thank you so much for your compliment, Brittany always chuckles when I try and copy her and make the right sounds because apparently it took her a lot of practice trying to get everything right too. I'll pass on your comment to her, I'm sure she appreciates it!

  • That was just beautifully done!

  • I just wanted to thank you for the compliment and let you know that I will pass your comment on to Brittany!

  • This song always makes me cry. My friend sang this for our all-state auditions and solo and ensemble, she KILLED it. But this girl does it justice amazingly. Brought tears to my eyes.

  • The fact that you've had the opportunity to see this song performed live means that you're a better judge of the performance so that makes your compliment mean a whole lot more! Thank you very much! I'll definitely pass on your compliment to Brittany!

  • Brittany, you've got so much voice in you! Wonderful... I can hear by your phrasing that this was a piece of cake for you. No stretching, no breathless spots. Great job. I hope you continue singing... on behalf of all of us.

  • This is quite a compliment, thank you very much! I'm going to let Brittany read this comment herself!

  • Well, it's good that you've put a lot of thought into it so far. We did too. Hopefully, you'll excel and go far! If not, you can always decide to go back and do something else at that point. Good luck to you! Let us know if you post any solo performances, and good luck with your auditions!

  • (Reply Part 1) It's interesting that you say you express concern about being able to do anything in music because Brittany felt the same way. It is extremely difficult to make it in the music business. You have to have a one in a million kind of talent, the look, and just the right personality. No matter how many times people in the community would tell Brittany how good she was she knew that those compliments didn't equate to making a living by performing. (continued...)

  • (Reply Part 2) It was a very difficult decision for Brittany because she couldn't see herself being happy doing anything but singing too but we all think she made the mature choice by deciding on a career she knew she could support herself & her family with. And because the job she's choosing is in demand, she has talked about moving to New York after school so that while she works at a hospital, she can still audition for shows or continue on and go to school for music. (continued...)

  • (Reply Part 3) I understand your dilemma too. When I was younger, I wanted to go to art school to become a sculptor. I worked for four years in high school to put together a portfolio so I could apply. My parents always encouraged my art but they knew that I was intelligent enough that in the end I would make the right decision. It was the same for Brittany. They never missed a performance but they always hoped she would make the smart choice; and she did. (continued...)

  • (Reply Part 4) The phrase "Starving Artist" doesn't exist without reason, you know? I'm not trying to talk you out of it, I just thought I'd let you know that there are other people going through the same thing. There are lots of jobs out there that would give you the flexibility to still do what you love. (continued...)

  • (Reply Part 5) For instance, the CEO at my hospital is an amazing singer but she got her degree in nursing and then her Master's in Hospital Administration but she never gave up performing. Every chance she gets she sings at events and weddings. I've always heard that you shouldn't choose a job that you love because then what you love becomes a job, you know what I mean? Sorry this reply was kind of long but good luck and God bless! Hopefully, everything works out for you!

  • Wow, all over the place! Brittany auditioned and was accepted at several schools but decided that rather than going into music, she was going to go to school for something that she knew she could support herself by doing so she is going to school to be a Nuclear Medicine Technician now. She plans on pursuing music after she is done getting a practical degree first especially considering how expensive college is. Anyways, Good luck with your auditions! Do you have any solo performances posted?

  • Brittany said thank you very much and good luck with your college audition! Where are you applying?

  • I sang this for a choir audition and it got me far, though i forgot the words in the middle!!! But i like this song, so it was all good!

  • Brittany practiced for a while before she had the lyrics memorized. Her vocal teacher had her learning the notes first and then moving on to the actual words. Thanks for the comment!

  • yeah that's what my teacher does! what's her / his name?! she's got a good voice

  • Thank you for the compliment! Brittany's voice teacher's name was Amy Longtin. I tried to watch some of your videos but it says they aren't available any longer. Well, thanks again for the comment!

  • I'm singing this song for a recital, and knowing how hard the changing tempo is, she did a great job.

  • Thanks for the compliment! I'll let Brittany know.

  • Excellent singing, some problems with the tempo though.

  • Brittany decided at the last minute to perform this song so there was no time for a rehearsal with the pianist to discuss the tempo, unfortunately. Thank you for the compliment though!

  • Very excellent! May I ask how old Brittany is when this vedeo was taped?

    Excellent! Bravissimo!

  • This video was from about a year and a half ago when she was 17 or 18. Thank you for the compliment! I'll pass it on to her.

  • a little flat and rushed at some parts, it helps if you sing the song through at a slower tempo and gradually go faster, the pianist shouldn't be rushing you (brittany) either, so tell him/her to slow down or go fast. make sure you roll your 'r's though and move your tongue around when you sing so it's easier to pronounce the words.

other than that you/she has a really pretty voice, and keep singing! whether it's on the train or on the bus, you never know where it might take you. (^w^)

  • Thanks for the comment. I'll let Brittany know your compliment!

  • Nice tone to your voice, i'd say you should work on your italian cause it sounds a lil off and it also sounds like your rushing a little bit. Try and shape your phrases a little more and you'll sound great, other than that niceee job you have alot of potential. =)

  • Thank you for your comment! I'll pass your compliment on to Brittany!

  • Ótimo!!

  • Obrigado para o elogio! Eu direi Brittany.

  • muy bueno amiga, espero que tengas exito

  • ¡Gracias por el comliment!

  • Part 1 of 3: Hello, everyone! I'd just like to comment on some comments that I have received. If I had posted a video entitled: "The Best and Most Absolutely Perfect Performance Ever in the History of Creation, Sung by The Infallible Brittany" then I could understand how that would invoke and invite criticism to the performance. No where have I written this, so it is somewhat confusing to me the amount of unsolicited recommendations and harsh criticisms that are received endlessly.(continued...)

  • Part 2 of 3:These videos were posted so family in other states could easily listen to Brittany if they chose and for others to listen if they wished. Also, chances are you aren't the first one to say what you are about to say and I've doubtlessly already responded to it. If you truly are giving constructive criticism with the intention of being helpful then you won't mind hearing a response and should read further to find if this issue has already been discussed.(continued...)

  • Part 3 of 3:However, if your only intention is to criticize without the possibility of reply then you are simply doing it to hear yourself speak and shouldn't bother at all.You wouldn't walk up to a complete stranger and tell them you didn't like their hairstyle so why would you criticize someone's video? Mother always said if you have nothing nice to say then don't say it all. Again, and as always, I appreciate all the positive comments and compliments and I always pass those on to Brittany.

  • I think she has a beautiful voice. The song was alright, but to me it was a tiny bit boring, because it had no dynamics, no crescendos, decrescendos, accents, nothing. :/ If she were to add some musicianship, it would be simply exquisite.

  • Hi there! Thanks for the comment! There are two reasons I think Brittany doesn't interpret the song more. The first reason is because she has been instructed through her vocal lessons to stay perfectly still during her performances so she doesn't distract from her technical ability. The second reason is because at this point Brittany was looking at her performances practically. She had no intention on joining the theater and wasn't concerned with theatricality so much as perfecting technicality.

  • Well I think it would be a shame not to waste just a talent like that. But, 'tis her decision to make, not mine.

  • Thanks again for the compliment but Brittany continues sing, although she is pursuing a career in the healthcare field currently, her intentions are to get a job she knows can support her and then perhaps venture out into the world of performing. Thank you for the comment! Let us know if you post any videos of any of your performances. We'd love to see them because you sound like you know what you're talking about :)

  • She has a very good voice and she sings the song technically very well. Just a little tip for future performances: try to express the song with the body if you know what I mean. Tell the story of the song instead of just singing the right notes. It will give more meaning to the performance in a way that makes it even more beautiful + I experienced that expressing a song makes you, strangely enough, less nervous.

  • Thanks for the compliment! I'll pass it on to Brittany. Let us know if you post any videos, we'd love to see them!

  • THIS WAS SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL.

  • Wow, I really appreciate it! Brittany is performing tomorrow, so I'll pass this on to her. Hopefully, it will help calm her nerves some! Thanks again for the comment!

  • amazing...simple like that

  • Thank you! I'll pass that on to Brittany!

  • Thank you for the compliment but Brittany chose to keep it quicker so as to not bore the audience. Thanks again though!

  • Very nice...I think it is a bit faster than it should be, but what do I know?

  • Great Voice!! :O

  • Thanks for the compliment!

  • AMAZING! :D I have to sing this song for Solo and Ensemble. :) Hope it goes well for me. -_- lol

  • Thanks for the comment! I hope you do well! Let us know if you post any videos of it!

  • -melts- Thank you. You are the bar for Senior performers! This is perfect and I hope your scores reflected as such!

  • Wow! I really appreciate the compliment! Brittany always worked hard and practiced for her performances! Thanks again!

  • you speak italian very well!!!

    sei te che canti?

  • Grazie...Il cantante è la mia sorella. Dico quello correttamente?

  • ti correggo:

grazie...la cantante è mia sorella. l'ho detto correttamente?

    do you have msn?

  • No, I don't have MSN. My Italian is very limited so I would not be able to say much without checking my translator. Di quale parte d'italia sei?

  • i live near Venezia =)

  • My Mother and sister visited Italy a couple years ago but the closest they were to you was Florence. I'm going to Portugal next spring and I'd love to go to Italy. In your opinion, where is the best place to visit or site to see in Italy? Have you been anywhere else in Europe or North America?

  • Venezia and Roma are very beautiful..I went to Spain...

  • My Mother went to Rome. She liked it alot. We may be traveling through Spain on our trip. Did you like it?

  • alot = a lot

  • I'm confused by your comment. What are you trying to say?

  • bello

  • Grazie Infinite!

  • ma sei italiana o parli molto bene l'italiano?

  • Mi dispiace, so soltanto un po' di italiano. Parla inglese?

  • u have a really nice voice i'm actually learning this song right noe for the Solo and Ensemble Competition coming up in January...i really luv this song

  • Thank you! Good Luck to you!

  • Verrrrrrry nice.

  • definitely the best version i've heard on youtube so far

    keep up the good work

  • Thank you!!

  • this is excellent.

Very good control..Its a hard song to sound great at.

    You did awesome! Good Luck!

  • Thank you! I appreciate the comment!!

  • quite beautiful voice. it's very very warm sounding and enjoy that. i wish it was just a bit more richer. i can't really tell from the video, but if her mouth was opened a little more i think she really could've gotton that richer tone. also, i do think at one point it definitely was too fast and where, in my opinion, it should slow down a little bit more for a dramatic effect and to change it up a little bit. but it was still really well done. i enjoyed that.

  • Beautiful voice & a nice job. Excellent posture & projection. There are a lot of good things here and, unfortunately, it is practice to focus on the negative when it comes to classical voice. I don't know if anyone noticed, but she started at more of what I think of as the standard tempo for this song and sped up after the first two lines. Seems either 1- she wanted it to be faster, which is her choice as an artist and should be appreciated or 2- she was nervous, which happens to all of us.

  • Thank you for the comment and yes, although she learned it in a quicker tempo she chose to keep it at this pace because she liked it slightly faster. I appreciate that, unlike other people, you realize that as a vocal performer you are entitled to take certain creative liberties and interpret any song you sing in a way you feel is right.

  • Brittany joked that because this song was about flirting with more than one person ("Just because the lily pleases me, I do not have to despise the other flowers.") In other words, keeping her options open, she said that done in the slower tempo she felt it was slightly inappropriate and that she should be rolling around on the piano. She did it quicker to keep it playful and more interesting.

  • i dont think its too fast, this is about the same tempo were doing it my voice class.

  • I was just giving my opinion, has you can do it in my videos... I think that we, singers, must help each other criticizing the others work not to destroy them but to help them to improve! I'm sorry again. And, by the way, your sister has a great voice! (sorry about my english...)

  • Unfortunately, there were no rehearsals with this pianist. She had known this song previously and was asked to sing it at the recital and the pianist was given the music separately. Brittany practiced with a vocal teacher and I'm not sure at what tempo they rehearsed but I'm sure that it probably didn't match to the second how the pianist played it but all she could do was go with it. As I said, I appreciate the nice comments though.

  • I've discussed this with my sister before, that although I enjoy listening to classical, choral, and operatic music, I find the whole scene far too critical. Music is an art that is interpreted through every individual who sings it and to critique everything from the tempo, diction, posture, facial expression, and all the way down to the way she bows or curtseys, I just find it stifling to the creativity that the music originated from.

  • Hi Tiffany! I wasn't trying to do a destructive comment! I'm sorry if I offended you... I am not atacking your sister when I say that i think the tempo is too fast. I think that when it happens in a concert the only way to solve it is to act like your sister did - go with the pianist(You're right about that). But I'm sure that there must have been rehearsals and that this tempo thing wasn't something that happenned only here, in the recital.

  • I think you have to be carefull with the tuning! I also think it's a little bit too fast... but you have a great voice. Be more expressive! It helps!

  • A lot of you have been talking about the tempo being too fast but I don't recall ever saying my sister was a fifty something year old sex change patient who is now a man. She is the one who is singing...not playing the piano. The pianist got the music shortly before playing the song. Unless you would have liked for her to stop in the middle and walk over to him and correct his playing, which he's been doing for almost forty years, she did what any professional should do and went with the flow.

  • On a different note, I would like to thank everyone very much for leaving nice comments. Although, I never requested for anyone's opinion (these videos were posted so family could see her performances) I appreciate the nice comments and for those of you who say negative things, No one asked you!...You wouldn't walk up to a random person on the street and tell them you don't like their haircut, so you shouldn't do the same thing on the internet.

  • wonderfull :D but isn't the tempo too fast?

  • The music being too fast can't be helped, it's probably how you were taught. The italian is a bit off, but otherwise good performance.

One thing to be proud of: You have excellent posture.

  • your voice is amazing, but i dont really see the change in expression from the beginning to the second phrase. But really awesome, the only other thing is i feel like the tempo is a little too quick, but that is just my preference. :)

  • I'm not exactly sure what you are talking about because in this very grainy video you can barely make out where her mouth and eyes are. If the quality of the video were better, or you were there, you would see that she smiles and is quite expressive throughout the whole performance engaging the crowd.

  • when you are singing your acting cant only come from your facial expressions - that would be extremely weird if your voice didnt match your face .... im not trying to be overly critical, just giving my opinion, the text of the song is very flirtatious and almost promiscuous (almost), i really dont hear that in her voice - thats all

  • I am in shock. This is wonderful. I actually got chills at one point.

  • I'll join the choir: awesome performance! :)

  • This is amazing.

  • BAM rules and she can sing way better than any of you bitches so anyone who makes rude comments about her is just jelous because they cant even begin to be as awesone as her.Not just hr voice but her personality as well, and if you are so insecure that you have to make fun of someone FUCK YOU!!!Go to a therapist.

  • You=AMAZING!!!!

  • you have a very good voice!!!1
