I have to get a lot of children to re - learn positions. coupe is an action. russian terminology (in case you wonder) this "coupe" is higher and is called conditional front or back and is taught as the position used in landing off a jump or when doing battement fondu. it's like up the shin bone.
@mikecharlieromeo Thank you so much for clarifying that with the Russian terminology! I have the same issue in teaching allegro when I say "coupe" and my students assume it is just the position of the foot and not the action of "cutting under."
