@KhaozOfTrouble18 You need to use RSD Lite version if you use Windows. You can't do this method in Windows. It needs to be 32bit Unix based system.

@OwnedByLeo14 I see. Did chmod script chmod sbf_flash or did you chmod the script? Are the file/folder structure correct. Worse case scenario is read the script by editing it, and do it one command at a time.

@OwnedByLeo14 It is unix based. That doesn't mean the sbf_flash binary works on all unix flavors. I can tell you sbf_flash doesn't really work in 64bit environments.

@kuskuz15 You can do it by command line using the chmod function. chmod 0755 dosbf.sh

I havent been able to find one that I could open in linux, and all the links i have found on forums have been to megaupload and those other crap sites which contain about 7 download buttons none of which are the correct file, so If you could perhaps email it to me or send it through youtube that would be great, thanks.

What is the difference between hard reset and sbf?

@logan2pointO SBF is the actual reflash. Let's say you flashed a ROM, and you hard resetted. You would be resetting to the stock ROM. SBF would be stock stock.

@ReichEnemy Yup. If you need to SBF via Windows, look into RSD Lite. For Linux system, make sure you are running the 32bit version, or have the 32 bit extension installed on your 64bit system.

I rooted my phone, then downloaded a "Theme" called X2 for my Droid X, then after the reboot, this yellow loading bar comes up but it keeps restarting. Ive tried to wipe my data and do a factory reset but nothing seems to work.. can you help please??

Hey man thank you so much for this tutorial and super simplistic method. For all those who do not have a Linux machine, I just burned a Ubuntu 10.04 live cd ran it on my Macbook (put the disc in hold "alt" key select disc) and used this process... ran perfectly!

how can i do this if the phone tells me that the battery is low? i tried charging but it says the same thing. I cant get it to charge maybe because it doesnt have an OS. Is there another solution other than getting another battery or charging it without opening a usb cable?

@smcorrea Charge it longer and by using the wall instead of the USB port. If you can do that, try to see if you can borrow a friends fully charged battery.

@zZEevoHD Boot loop probably. Start your phone up in regular recovery (or clockwork) and wipe data and cache. See if that gets you through first.

@LRGskater41 Have you tried loading into the recovery mode and wiping data and cache. Hold the X button, or was it the up button, and power on. Then press the button with the magnifying glass on it. And wiping data.

@coloraveo I ran across the fix. What you need to do is install the ia32-lib package... Just for future reference.

I found through multiple OS installations that this fix only works on 32 bit linux, not 64. The phone is flashing as we speak. I followed everything in this video to the T, but on 64 bit the shell command quits after you input the password. Thanks for the reply and helping me unbrick my phone!

I attempted to use this method as well as the method explained in these videos and after I input my password into the terminal, the terminal window closes and the flash doesn't run. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

@coloraveo Did you rename your sbf file to "droid2.sbf"? Or, did you extract the whole folder? I think there is an error somewhere.
