Its modeling light, its a feature of good quality flashes (example: Metz 50 AF-1).

It's used to check in realtime how the light will be, before the shoot.

Yes, it should have that feature, but I suggest not to abuse.

It can reduce the life of the flash unit itself.

@maciekmackowski when flash is involved it's the aperture that controls exposure, shutter speed controls ambient light.

Don't be fooled! His ceiling has expensive of modifications for studio work! Your Lightsphere AND HIS are not going to be used in a studio! Don't use these results to get practical info about Lightsphere. The reflective surfaces planned and positioned in his studio are costly and not going to be in your photo scenes! If you DO use LSphere in a studio, you are broke and won't be selling much pro work to anyone. Two different scenarios (studio vs. LSphere shots), so be smart!

I think it would be easier to see the results if you showed them in the video (like, after you've loaded them to the pc) as opposed to showing us off the camera... coz I cant really see the difference that well

I find an amber gel over the flash , but before the LS works better, since the amberdome gives amber out the top for any bounce, but white out the sides... wheras the gel makes the whole thing amber.

When you say "slow shutter speeds" how slow do you exactly mean? 1/30?

check all the white and shinny material at the roof, by the way "catch light" never work this way... I tried before. (I did with umbrella 45 side at 10 pm on the eyes). This is just like another small tool to fill light, You can't use this as your main light.

couldnt see the difference in the images from the amber dome, only saw that the first image was at an 80th of a second the other was at 200th of a second. anychance of posting the images on the video?
