Sixteen years meat free, and I look 10 years younger, am far wealthier, and have more energy now than I did at 20. Protein, iron, b-12 ? No lack of those. I never gain weight, and I eat all I want.
You should be more specific, because you probably didn't take your meals properly. Or there could be other reasons. If vegan people went sick, there would be no one sponsoring the lifestyle.
This was seven years ago so I do not remember all the details nor do I remember every last thing I ate. I did see a dietitian, who was vegan herself, for help setting up a meal plan which I followed to the letter. I think that anyone that wants to do it should give it a try, and for those it worked for that is wonderful. But it did not work with my body systems, I do not know why.
You all should go vegan, its better for the earth and meat eaters cause global warming and believe in murdering and torturing animals, they all probably eat babies and torture other humans too, it wouldn't suprise me! FACT: Vegans are better looking, WAY hotter, and WAY smarter than anyone else! tee hee!
Just 1 HAMBURGER from Costa Rican Beef results in the estimated Eradiction of one Tree, 50 Saplings, Seedlings from 20-30 Species, 100s of Insect Species and a Huge Diversity of Microorganisms!!!!! :(.....................................
GO VEGAN TODAY!!
"If Man would only take what they need and not what they greed, we could feed the whole World!"-Mahatma Gandhi-
Who cares what other people think?... Me, I think all of us have to decide who we are. Be true to what we believe. I believe in the world getting rid of cruelty, greed, disease and global warming. If vegan does it, then vegan I should be.
For human beings to universally to become vegan represents an increase in the efficiency of the conversion of solar energy from plant to human biomass, and thus increases food resources for humans. As past trends suggest, the human population would then probably expand. The net result would be fewer nonhumans and more humans, which in turn would tax other natural resources more than at present. Thus, a vegetarian human population is probably ecologically catastrophic!

According to The Washington Post Magazine, in the case of birds, the term "free-range" "doesn't really tell you anything about the [animal's] quality of life, nor does it even assure that the animal actually goes outdoors."(2)
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), "free-range" beef, pork, and other non-poultry products are loosely defined as coming from animals who ate grass and lived on a range. (con't)
(con't) No other criteria-such as the size of the range or the amount of space given to each animal-are required before beef, lamb, and pork can be called "free-range." "Free-range" and "free-roaming" facilities are rarely inspected or verified to be in compliance with these two criteria. The USDA relies "upon producer testimonials to support the accuracy of these claims."(3)

I understand the elimination from meat from the diet, but why dairy products? Consuming dairy products does not harm the animal nor does it encourage the slaughter of animals. In fact, while dairy products are in demand the animals will still be needed, extending their lifetime before finally their unfortunate death at the hands of meat eaters.
Consuming dairy products does harm the animals. Calves are taken from mothers at just a few days old to be turned into veal. If you support the dairy industry, you are supporting the veal industry.
@djluxmaster WTF ??? So, if I understand you right, what you are trying to say is drinkin' milk is the same as eatin' meat ?/ Seriously bro?? You are not frickin' killing them when you are drinking milk that comes from those cows. And I have been vegetarian since I was born. My whole family is vegetarian. And I am just as healthy as those other mofos around that eat meat. And plus I have not been sick for six whole years, I have never had to take any medicines or go to the hospital.
Good sources of protein: almonds, black beans, brown rice, cashews, garbanzo beans (chickpeas), kidney beans, lentils, lima beans, peanut butter, pinto beans, seitan, soybeans, soymilk, sunflower seeds, textured vegetable protein (TVP), tofu, vegetarian hot dogs and burgers.
Good sources of iron: black beans, bran flakes, cashews, Cream of Wheat®, garbanzo beans, GrapeNuts®, kidney beans, lentils, navy beans, oatmeal, pumpkin seeds, raisins, soybeans, soymilk, spinach, sunflower seeds, tofu, tomato juice, whole wheat bread. Info from Compassion Over Killing's Vegetarian Starter Kit, freely downloadable from myspace[dot]com/veganfuture (Click on Starter Kit graphic on top of page). This is a great guide with lots of useful advice for new vegans. Best of luck.
"you will would be healthier eat meat. trust me" You obviously didn't do your homework or you would know that consuming meat and dairy is linked to diabetes, cholesterol, heart disease. In addition, calling someone a waste of life is pretty ruthless. Too bad for you more people are going veg everyday.
I was in Costa Rica in 1992 and I can relate to burning down trees to clear land. It was terrible, you could hardly breath or see at times while driving. At that time the farmers received approx. $10 US dollars per head of cattle.... to them it was a lot, but the devastation to the land and forests was incomprehendable. It's only a matter of time and there will be nothing left. Veganism will solve so much more than just health issues. Great video....
Vegan logic (R): Breathing is bad, and it produces CO2, solution is simple: stop breathing! ta-daaa. Genious.

Great video, except for the confusion about vegetarian / vegan.
Vegan is the only way to help the animals and the planet. Eating dairy is just as bad as beef

Well, well, well it seems that every time something about the environment pops up they keep changing the reasons.
First people say vehicle travel, then it was power stations and big companies and now its this, farming.
