@orangecrush37 I am pretty sure Verizon doesn't share data even on Family plans. So you shouldn't have to change any of the other features on your account other than to add a data plan to the line you'll be adding the smartphone to. Verizon has recently changed their data plans; so I believe the cheapest you can get is 2 gigs of data for 29.99. So take whatever you currently pay each month and add the data plan per line.

@orangecrush37 I switched from verizon to sprint and glad I did they are offer so much more for the dollar. If i had just one phone with unlimited data, 450 minutes, unlimited text, is only $57.39. The cool thing about sprint also is that they only charge you minutes for land lines, you can call any mobile phone on any company and they don't charge you minutes for it so the chance of going over your minutes is thin.

The GPS is awful. It may just be an internal problem with my phone, but I've gotten a few replacements already and the applications I always get seem to freeze, I also feel like the touch screen isn't at its best. It may just be me so don't let my opinion stop you from getting it, but the phone seems too slow for me. Go check it out though, you may like it

I have the choice between the HTC desire (original one) and the Samsung Fascinate (which looks exactly the same as the vibrant hardware wise in Canada but the software is the fascinate). It really seems to me that the UI on the desire with HTC sense seems nicer but I love everything else about the fascinate... I dunno if that should hold me back or not to choose the fascinate, any tips?

All the burn in issues people are talking about is an issue associated with AMOLED screens. All you have to do to avoid it is have a "screen saver" going if not using and want the screen on, or shut the screen off.As off now i'is the one downfall with AMOLED screens, other than that they are far superior to LCD or LED-LCD screens in every aspect, especially picture quality and power consumption. That's why I choose to use them for a touch control center for a product I make .

@DinaaAdoree What you are probably looking at is the sensor that tells the phone that you face is near it so that your face doesn't dial any numbers while you are talking on it. Hope that helps!

@DinaaAdoree its called a proximidy senser it shuts the screen of when lets say u put it to your ear so ur not wasting battery life when on the phone and will let it turn on when u pull it away lets say u call verizon and u put it up to your ear it shuts off then when u need to press a number it will turn back on and that way u dont have to unlock it when u need to press a button so on and so forth

@DinaaAdoree Two people answered your question and only vmj28 did a decent job of explaining it. There are actually 2 sensors next to each other. As you can see, they look like little cameras. As previously mentioned, one is a proximity sensor, primarily used to detect the phone being placed near or one your face, so you don't end up pressing the screen accidentally while on a call. The other sensor is for the phone to adjust the screen brightness, based on the environment lighting.
