I bought one from Canada (innovativedevice) - it lasted 4 months before the motor developed problems, getting hot and slowing down and eventually stopping - I could get it going again and set the RPS but the display kept cutting out at above 24RPS - anything slower and the flickering was annoying. Considering the price I thought it would last longer :(
These are great conversation pieces. I have an old red/blue version. Unfortunately, they're not practical or cost effective. By that, I mean a cheap color LCD display showing a clock has better resolution, more flexibility, no noise, better colors, better reliability (no moving parts), etc. The display can either be a cheap $69 Android tablet, a digital photo frame or a $99 monitor hooked into a computer that is always on. All are more easily customized ... but this has the WOW factor.
can u use a software to make different animations to add on to it or did i just now give you that idea?. p.s. how long will it take 4 the deluxe edition to come back in stock?
i could possibly build 1 with lasers if i can make an x-y galvo and a driver with computer connection
@jdog8853 I already have a version Wifi 2.4 gig with computer interraction. But I don't think that it will be released to the public... The wifi version have a connection to Facebook, meteo, hotmail, ect...
@mast3rbug ok. #1) so someone can now put their clock on the wall and insted of going to their computer, pull out a remote and check out their facebook status... ok thats cool but i thing i would consider myself a little to lazy to do that, but thats just me.
but i was on the website and it says the advanced version is out of stock, do u know when or if, more will be in stock?
@mast3rbug Probably a very niche market and wouldn't sell well on a mass scale... I'm one of those types that would absolutely *love* a clock which could connect to WiFi (the clock you describe). How much would a "pimped" out clock be, as it were? And would you be willing to make one for just a small handful of people (say, limited run of less than 10 clocks)? How much programming goes into this?

@Masta802 Nah! I did not made google. Only this clock and the song (I'm a techno composer and an electronic designer). The song (and complete album) was made in fruityloop, and the women voice in the song is made with microsoft speech, with some echo process and flanger made in fruityloop. If you want I can give you a download link to my album.

Does this make alot of sound while rotating?
I mean, could someone sleep with that thing in their room?
KLpyro 1 year ago
@KLpyro Hi.
It depend on your sensibility to noise. It make some noise, but if you can sleep with a computer running, it's ok. It's about the same noise.

Yes, I would love a download link to the album.

Cool tune!
If you used photo cells instead of L.E.D.'s, do you think this could be made to operate like a sort of tv camera?
Something like the scanning disk the Narrow Band Television guys use to generate their pictures.
If it worked, I don't think you would even need a lens to capture an image.
ufoengines 1 year ago
@ufoengines I think It can act as a paper scanner, but not a camera. Need to have a focus on photocells.

Could this be used as a TV screen?
Ya know it's a clock, and you throw a switch, and zap, you are now watching the game.
That would be really cool!
Have you showed this to the Narrow Band Television folks?

dogzer 1 year ago
@dogzer This is not battery powered. It is powered by AC. No, this is really acceptable. less than a computer fan.

mast3rbug 1 year ago

Approximate price and availability for Europe?
TheDexboy 2 years ago
Hi.
Like mentioned in the description, the clock is available only for north America. The present shipping cost is too high for Europe for the moment.
mast3rbug 2 years ago
@mast3rbug How can it be too high? The customer pays for shipping so what difference does it make?
zooto68 1 year ago
@zooto68 Simply because we must assume the warranty, and in the case the clock broke, we have to pay for shipping charge.
