The Americans basically bombed the whole city to pieces and thousands were killed, you could see Katsurahama from Obiyamachi(pictures are in the local museum--they were when I visited)

Well, the yucky black spot that you see in this video is actually a week and a half after the fact. I have some wonderfully nasty pictures of it one and two days after it happened.:-D I'm a girl, our pain tolerance is immesurably strong. ^-^
