  • nice video, shitty quality unfortunately

  • To those arguing here:

Lukas V was TRULY 16 and running those times. African "teenagers" are easily in their mid-20's. But they call themselves 17 or whatever when they suddenly become good because they don't know what else to do without out birth records.

So a 16yr old running 14:10 is a little different than a 23yr old running those JR "world records".

  • those niggers are special

  • @yahavx u pussy

  • a VERY fast lap followed by a VERY fast mile

  • john walker really captured the idea of this event "its basically just a fast lap followed by a fast mile"

  • Sypreme pace and the great man.........its all amazing

  • i'm 15 and i ran 2000m in exactly 7 minutes is this good?

  • About a 5:31-5:32 mile

    You're alright

  • why are you lieing

  • yes very good if your only 15.

  • Great

  • Sure thats good. Like a 10.30 3000m. What are u running for lower distances as well. What distance or rhythm do you feel comfortable at. I need to know more.

  • i do 1000-5000m every 4 days a week

  • I was 14 and ran 2000m in 6:42

  • im 13 i turn 14 in like 10 months my best is 7.05 for 2km reply if u think its good

  • @DanScoots09 you suck

  • So what about this kids i am 12 and my record is 9:21 and i am 2 years younger than this so called "wonder kid" 2 years for me to train and get faster and stronger

  • There is a 14 year old in the U.S who is a triathlete, his indoor 5000m pb is 14:18 and for the 3000m - 8:23. I thought I was a hotshot with a x-country 5k pb of 15:55. I'm 14 as well. This shows how incredible this guy is. If anyone is going to break Komen's and Guerrouj's records it would be him.

  • That sounds like bullshit

  • i believe 14:18 is faster than german fernandez's time. by the way, he's a 4:00 miler in high school and now a 3:55 miler in his indoor season freshman year of college at oklahoma. so if that kid is really that fast, he certainly won't improve much more throughout high school.

  • its true, i also heard of that 14 year old with the 14:18 indor PR. amazing

  • The person you are referring to is lukas verzbicas who is actually 16 years old. There are probably 100 africans who have run as fast as he has at his age or faster.

  • I'm no stalker so excuse me if I don't know everything. But he definately set the freshmen record (14-15) for sure. Which was also the highschool record of 14:18. Get your head out of the google and learn the facts. Also there probably are a few kids in east africa who match his potential, but make no mistake this time is beyond the vo2 maximum of most elite athletes you see in other sports.

  • I googled only in order to know how to spell his name. You made a controversial comment so I gave you my opinion. He is a remarkable athlete; a triathlete who trains only 50 miles per week. My point is that he is physically mature (unlike most freshman) and that the idea that he is the only one in the world who can break the records set by komen and Guerrouj is ridiculous. I understand that a 14:18 5k is a remarkable time as a runner myself. "Get my head out of google and learn the facts"?

  • His facts are right and he set the freshman record in the 2 MILE, with a time of 8:53.98...not the 14:18 which is his recent indoor 5k pr...btw wouldnt google be used to gain facts? :P (This was in the Running Times Magazine June Issue)

  • @deadhead9878

Most likely hundreds of teenage male east africans have matched if not vastly surpassed what Verzbicas has done. Keep in mind that the JR. WR for the 3k is under 7:30, the 5k is under 13minutes, and the 10k is under 27minutes. All of these times run by teenage kenyans.

  • @ncgreco360 Yes, but teenage east africans could very well be east africans in their twenties. Birth records aren't kept very well in Kenya, and it's hard to believe some of those "kids" running sub13 5ks are really kids.

  • thats just frightening

  • ELguerrouj great legend

  • i think he took almost a hundred meters on the rest of the field.

  • The rest of the field (including Bernard Lagat) were 10 seconds behind at 4:54, so, at 7-8 meters per second gives El G a 75 meter gap between his opponents.

  • 1500 meter, 1600 meter, and know the 2000 meter wow amazing

  • Comment removed

  • great run by a living legend but i've always wondered why he never broke the 2000 indoor record

  • morocccan power--el g rules

  • thanks for the video

  • i wonder when the next el guerrouj will come around

  • Never

  • You mean you think no one will ever beat his records?

  • Someone """MAY""" beat his insane records someday, but for sure there will be no one as Great as he is. Hicham "The Great".

  • he's a fast runner but that doesn't make him "Hicham The Great" you're making it sound like he's a spectacular person... no offense, I can understand why you admire him.

  • How can you not admire him?

Whenever they Mention Hicham el GUerrouj, commentators call him "Hicham the Great".

Just look at his records and his accompplishments. And don't give me that PreFontaine Shit.

  • i never said i didnt admire him. i said i can understand why you admire him. what do u mean prefontaine shit? i know who pre is but why would i talk about him when we're discussing el guerrouj?

and yeah his records are really impressive especially since a lot of scientists said nobody will ever run faster than 3:50, and now here we are with this guy in the low 3:40's.

  • At the time Roger Bannister ran the mile for the first time in less than 4:00, no one even thought that was possible to achieve. Now if you look at Daniel Komen, he ran the 2-mile in under 8:00, I think the time was 7:58.61, or something like that. I would never say that no one will ever be like El Guerrouj. Not to mention that Jim Ryun was ahead of his time, now he wouldn't really be considered that fast of a runner compared to would class athletes today.

  • shame ryun never won olympic gold

  • Yeah, I agree, as a matter of fact, WR mile holder Hicham El Guerrouj was very close to never winning an olympic gold; he finally won two of them during some of his very last races. He won the first one in the 1500m running against Bernard Lagat, in which Lagat almost passed him. A while later, he ran against Bekele in the 5000m and outkicked him at the very end.

  • yeh i know, i was at my grans and i was only 10, not really into athletics, watching the athens games, but my dad told me we wanted guerrouj to win and i got way too excited over i guy i had never heard of. lmao

  • Ryun should've run in Montreal. He would've had a chance.

  • If he was running today, Ryun would still be pretty good. He ran fast times on shit tracks. He had an awesome kick that could've challenged even Ovett or Coe at their best. El G was awesome here. He went through the mile in about 3.51, then he picked up the pace! He averaged just under 57 per lap (which is 3.33 pace for 1500m). It makes even Morceli look ordinary.

  • Fantastic upload. Haven't seen this race for ages, one of the most awesome records in the book.

  • thanx for the video i was looking for it since a long time ok

    awsome performance

    Glory to Morocco

i hope we will have other runners like aouita and el guerrouj
