Well, it is clear that John was not gay.

I do not know why people are surprised by that scene. But it is nice to see John and Paul hugging. It shows how much John loved Paul (as a friends, of course)

(as i always say) they were MORE than mates MORE than brothers AND MORE THAN SOUL MATES!! and besides, they were just kids!! my youngest teacher is just 28, AND AT THAT TIME, THE BEATLES WERE ALREADY SPLITIN UP!!...so at THAT time, they were max. 23....and when you are young (like me :P) youre just thinkin of your BFFs, and your band, and maybe your girlfriend/boyfriend.... Yes their harmonies were miraculous even this early and with the mikes and amps they were using! Lucky for all of us that they somehow they came together and were always a big part of our lives. Very lucky for us I think and interesting that the newly remastered releases are making them available again to new fans.

Just curious why you love Baby's in Black so much? Personally, I always thought the songs on that Beatles For Sale album kind of dreary and not that great, especially compared to the energy of Hard Day's Night and the sophistication of Help, which bracketed that release.

But, its all personal taste...

Notice how tight they are. After listening to other groups at this concert (all of whom I love, too), it is clear how magnificent the Beatles were, head and shoulders above all the rest.

The greatest rock writers, the best threesome singing, the most imaginative, the best live, the tightest numbers - just bloody awesome.

Ringo had some standards to live up to, just being the drummer behind John, Paul and George.

And this entire concert is just stunning.

In the 1964 poll, which were presented at this concert in 1965, The Beatles won the same group awards, but Cliff Richard won the 'British Vocal Personality' (5,785 votes) to beat John (4,613). So, I don't know what award John won in th3 1964 poll!!

The Beatles won 'World Vocal Group' (9,320) to beat the Rolling Stones (6,002) and 'British Vocal Group' (10,002) to again beat the Rolling Stones (6,295). The Rolling Stones managed to beat the Beatles when 'Satisfaction' won 'Best New Disc Of The Year'(4,821) ahead of 'Help'(4,696)
