I don't mind there being other dynamics to the game other than hack n slash but it shouldn't detract from the rest of the game just enhance it or give your fingers a rest for a couple of minutes or allow you to eat that piece of pizza while you use the controller with one hand. I definitely agree. I haven't yet played Fable III, but the when I played Fable II, the jobs aspect really threw me for a loop.

I mean, what's next, 401K's in Fable IV? Oh, oh and maybe you could roll it over into Fable V!

Plus, what about benefits for my Fable laborer? I mean what happens if I cut my hand off while chopping wood, or burn myself while blacksmithing?

Milyn your wrong about marriage and jobs in video games. You have to think in a perspective other than your own. In your logic playing video games is about experiencing something unique that's intangible in the real world. Things like dating and sales jobs (your gap example) are tangible for you because your a hawt girl. But what about the bald forty year old in his mom's basement getting his fable III on? It'd be his unique/intangible experience to marry in fable. Right?

Yeah, the "job" think is one reason I've never been interested in games like the Sims or even a lot of MMO's. "Look, I get to walk around, perform menial tasks, eventually get paid, and then go buy a trinket." I could get a job at the mall and do all of that. I prefer games where I have a weapon in hand (and the need to use it) within two minutes of starting the game.
