i love this song and i am a 19 yo guy and work in a mill. my parents raised me on songs like this and the beatles and elvis. and i am glad they did becuse now i have a much better apprication of music
This was originally recorded by a singer named Billy Lawrence. It had a somewhat slower tempo and the choral part(with the kids) was sung in a foreign language.
And we always thought this was the original. The things we learn about the songs we grew up with
I have a great memory of going to the Kingdom Hall that i attended during my childhood, to meet with others from our congregation to clean it; someone would hook up the microphone system, and i would sing this song from the stage. I was rather young then. I've never been embarrased to admit that i enjoy this song, like others claim they do.... Why? It's nifty!
In May 1973, my father died of a heart attack. I learned of his death while listing to this song on the radio. I was 13 years old at the time. I always think of my dad when I hear this song. Thanks.
June of "72 my 7 year old brother,Michael, drowned,I was fourteen I also have a sister cindy. This song always breaks my heart. My brother would have been 44 yesterday.I miss him so. Thank you for posting. God Bless.
Thank you for your thoughts. I'm sorry that your Michael has passed. Sometimes I listen to this song & I get very sad, sometimes I think of the time when I would teach him how to swing a baseball bat & it makes me smile.May God Bless you and all children.
Happy Birthday, Clint. That was a big hit back then. Hey, you didn't have the luxury that the Amercian Idols have. You had to work for it with little or no pay. Keep rockin'. May 9, 2009.
Delightful!! I've never listened to this song before. The only Clint Holmes' song I knew so far was "Goodbye Maria" (I'd like someone to post it on You Tube if possible...). Thanks, for posting, Vinyl!
This song reminds me of 102nd street queens in the summer that song was so popular so simple yet so beautiful where have these days gone wow....,thanks for posting this song.
This was one of the first 45's I ever owned!! My Grandma used to sing it to me when I was a little boy! I hated it THEN but I'm glad I have it TODAY!!!!!!
I was 10 yrs old and I was in ICU recovering from being severely burned. I had a radio in my room, it was my only connection to the outside. I now have a son named Michael and he's married with 2 girls of his own. Thank You for putting this on Youtube.
My name is Michael, I am a pedo, I got lots of Jesus Juice for you...

If you're only 18 this song was already old when you were born. It's from 1973. Where'd did you hear it back when you were little?

Good song. It's got a good beat and it's easy to dance to. I give it a 98. Plus I'm crying my eyes out!!
