I agree this movie doesnt capture the thrill of the original, but what makes this movie great is just the camera angles that they get and the realism of the movie, like when they were in Haiti. I think they do a excellent job capturing the feeling.
Sure it might be a good movie (i cant say because i have never seen it) though nothing beats the classic days of Crockett and Tubbs, NOTHING. Pastels ftw
This movie sucked. I mean there was totally no story to it. I agree with Yahoo users and smart critics. This film sucked and I was totally deceived by the trailer. A major dissapointment to the award-winning 1980s T.V. show starring Don Johnson and Phillip Michael Thomas.
I thought the movie was good. It's good that Mann didn't rehash the TV show. It's a different time in Miami, and the drug trade has grown more global than in the 80s. The flashy pastels are no longer in vogue. I liked that nothing everything was tied up neatly at the end. While the script could have used more polish, and there were some troubles during shooting, I liked the mood of the story, and I liked Colin Farrell's Sonny Crockett. My main beef is Foxx and Farrell have little chemistry.

Yes, I really like this version here. Im wondering if this was a hack job by someone, or if it's a real version of the trailer put out by the studio. If its the latter, then is there a high quality version out there??
Passive... doesn't really capture the real thrill and essense of the orignal "Miami Vice". The trailer rocks though.

The movie was great, a classic. I loved it, Michael Mann is a master. Miami Vice is a great crime movie, and definitely the best of 2006.

@kobearizarjj I agree, and though the movie is actually watchable, I discount it as Vice canon.

It was a watchable movie, I thought. Yes, it was good that MM didn't rehash the show, but he still didn't top it either.

They should have used the original sum up of "In the Air Tonight"
ALso Jamie Foxx and Collin Farrell this movie had way more potential, it was wasted.
Still entertaining for me.

Why did they change to Lincoln Park? Also, is there a high quality version of this trailer anywhere??
brillo31 5 years ago
First of all, it's not Lincoln Park, it's linkin park. And a new movie always needs a new theme. And I like it. Don't you?

id pick Phill Collins as a movie opening song over linkin parks whack ass song with jay-z

Nice, I understand why they had Linken Park, but this is how it should have been.
