I so badly want to like this mod, but having 20 1-turn buildings to build in every new city you found is just ridiculous.. I mean, i love variety but it is taken way too far. It is micromanagement hell :(

Is Rise of Mankind similar but with a more reasonable number of buildings, with each building granting more than 1 production for example?

I hope your game turns out better than mine. In the year 4520 BC Ghandi already had a size 16 city. So I decided to look for it, using World Builder. To my surprise I saw wall to wall barbarians must have been in the hundreds standing shoulder to shoulder on nearly all the land masses. This may have been a fluke, so I'll run a couple of more games. I didn't have anything concerning barbarians checked off when I started the game.

You should really be careful with that mod. Further into the game a lot of things happen, so the mod is notorious for crashing and things like that.

@Iamlicc - Yes, Thebes was a city-state in the times of Ancient Greece, however, it also the Greek name for a city located in Egypt, famous for it's necropolis. There are several names for the Ancient Egyptian Thebes, or what we think the actual name for it was (via hieroglyphic writing), and they are: w3s.t (City of the Sceptre), niw.t rs.t (Southern City), iwnw-sm’ (Heliopolis of the South).

Believe me, the names make much more sense when viewed with hieroglyphs.

Several ancient cities were called Thebes, among others the Egypt city of Thebes which was their capital at one time, and at least 4 other Thebes: Thebes (Boeothia), Thebes (Thessalia), Thebes (Mycale) and Thebes (Cilicia). The Boeothian Thebes is probably the most famous one (Seven against Thebes).

@Umedark C2C basically IS Rise of Mankind, but with even more "early game" stuff. I am, in fact, playing as Egypt and yes, I rush to Kemetism in this game.
