  • there is a tent in his overalls

  • Expensive parents...

  • To be fair the description leads you up the garden path as Tom doesn't crash it, but he looses points for keeping talking about beans and wearing a HANS device :)

  • OMG! IS THE BUMPER OKAY?!

  • 1:53

She just tore the rear bumper off of a brand new Subaru STI... and she's laughing about it?!?! This is just more proof that women can't drive and don't value cars like men do!

  • WTF, why is he wearing his hans??

  • yeah that hans device is gonna work well with a single strap safety belt.... sure : P

  • @skaramoosh5 well theres 2 women in all of the major motorsports and its in nascar and indy. Both go in circles and are hardly as impressive and F1, WRC, GT1/2/3, Le Manns ect. ect... So when women get pissed about being told theyre worse drivers its because they dont care enough about going to a track and refining even everyday skills. All in all men enjoy cars more so we're better drivers than hairstylist

  • this is it, how you should test an STi.!

  • this proves that any male (even young) driver is better than any female (experienced) driver.

  • @Blindrider01 What's the matter, poor baby, to ugly to get laid.lol.lol. Don't hate women for your misfortune, it's like not are fault you look like a goblin.

  • @Blindrider01 dude dont listen to that dumbass hes just a hater.

  • It's about time she got put in her place. She's always kinda showy and cocky with her driving skills.

  • what crash? a bumper

  • beat you and didn't take off the bumper!

  • For those who wanna see the smash only: 1:53

  • ahh she is more freestyle, but that snoty kid has had experience with rally specifically. He should have had a faster time than that.

  • @theyellow240z Pushing a car that you're familiar with that close to its limit is not easy. This is a car that he's never driven before, with a couple of characteristics that radically change the way the car behaves:

    1. Turbo

    2. AWD

The Fiesta he's used to has neither of these.

I'm sure if he took it around a few more laps, then tried again, he'd get a significantly faster time.

  • @DrivingStupidity AHH it's ok im just jealous.

  • don't let women get in the car ,even she is pro.

  • Vikki B H can joyride me anytime!!!!

  • that kid just kicked my car...

  • Oi GINGE SQUEEZE YER PLUKES OUT

  • I thought Tom Cave crashes the car but Butler did it

  • the impreza is from 1994 to 2007 after a total void there

  • "Come and have a go, do you think your HARD enough!" He has a constant boner at his age.

  • ew ginger!

  • I love the way she always thinks she is so much better then male drivers. Its funny that the 17 yearold kid just slapped her skills around a track 1 second faster and didn't demolish the rear numper and wreck the Subaru along the way. The message is clear Vicky... You should drop the keys and the chauvanism. Go shopping in your Ford Ka and just accept that us men are naturally built to drive cars and women aren't... Its just nature.

  • This guy sound like Alex Delarge from A Clock Work Orange!

  • I wish I could crash a car and just talk about its weight reduction!

  • I want to f*** Vicki till she passes out sqeaking and squealing

  • @tom9665 That's sick and perverted.

  • Why is he using the HANS with a three point seat belt again...?

  • @Thanju The HANS devices work by limiting the angle the helmet can tilt by bracing against the body. The seatbelt just happens to pass over it, and probably does help keep it in place to some extent, but it should still work with a 3-point belt. There is a very similar device called the leatt brace being used now in bike racing where there aren't any seatbelts at all!

  • @jp3d2k I beg to differ. In order for the HANS to protect the neck from injury, it *must* be fixed and cannot just be placed on the driver's shoulders loosely. Unless you're buckled up in a 4- or 5 point safety belt, it doesn't work. You can also refer to wikipedia: "The seat belts that cross the driver's upper-body are properly installed so that the belts go right over the HANS device (...) Therefore, the HANS device is secured with the body of the driver, not the seat."

  • @Thanju yeah exactly: "HANS device is secured with the body of the driver, not the seat" in a crash the force is transferred into the chest not into the seat/belt system. From the official HANS device website: "Anecdotal reports indicate the HANS Device offers benefits even when worn under a 3-point OEM style of seatbelt. The user must also be wearing a helmet with HANS Device anchors on it." It's not as good as a leatt brace or HANS+harness, but much better than nothing.

  • @jp3d2k i've seen that and it doesn't mean anything else than "ehm yeah it would KINDA work with a 3 pt harness..." I'm afraid you are mistaken saying "the force is transferred into the chest not into the seat/belt". To the chest - true, not to the seat - also true -> BUT it is transferred TO the chest THROUGH the seatbelts. Without them HANS is useless. See here how important it is to have 4pt belts youtube.com/watch?v=RSW-9tbrfJI

    youtube.com/watch?v=WsmOadX_njQ

  • @jp3d2k and just to make sure it's very clear, here's the HANS instruction manual

    performancespeedtechDOTcom/documents/HANSOwnersManualDOTpdf

pay attention to pages 6 and 8 "Without shoulder belts properly mounted the device cannot function as it was designed (...) The device yoke fits on top of the user's torso but under the shoulder harness straps so that the harness holds the device to the user's torso." Throughout the whole manual it is only said to be used with racing harnesses, not 3pt.

  • @jp3d2k oh yeah and if you look at this video ... Tom Cave is wearing the seatbelt UNDER the HANS. So no matter if it worked with 3pt harnesses or not, in this case it's *completely* pointless hahaha ^_^

  • @Thanju check out the leatt brace. It works the same but without belts. I think the main benefit of having the belts rest in guides on the brace is actually to keep the belts from crushing your neck or catching on the brace in an impact. 3-point is not going to keep you in place as well, but the brace will still dig into the chest and limit the neck's range of motion preventing neck injury whether there is a belt over the top of it or not, so it's not *completely* pointless ;)

  • @jp3d2k I still cannot agree with you. Contrary to the Leatt Brace (which I haven't seen before, thanks for the hint!), the HANS does not have a part that sits on your back - you put it only on your shoulders. Therefore it won't "dig" into your chest, unless properly fastened with harnesses. Having it like in this video doesn't help at all as it will just move forward together with the head. And I seriosly doubt that even if it was covered by the 3pt belt, it would be any good as only one "arm"

  • @jp3d2k of the HANS device would be covered by the belt hence it would most probably still move forward with the other side. Most probably though the slippery belt would slide off the plastic... Next time I'm at work, I will check it out myself - well, not in a crash obviously ;-) but by putting it on in a street car with 3pt harnesses.

  • @Thanju The back bracing on the Leatt Brace is to control rearward head movement, which is not necessary in a car: the seat already serves that purpose. There is a version of the Leatt Brace for use with cars that has belt guides and a forward-movement helmet tether like the HANS device added to the standard Leatt Bracing mechanism. Because you are so rigidly attached to the car in a frontal collision the max force possible in that direction is much more violet than being thrown from a bike.

  • @Thanju I race downhill mountain bikes myself so I have only ever used the Leatt Brace. vimeo_com/4943080 this video kinda shows how the force is transferred to the front or back plate depending on which direction your head/helmet is being forced. So for preventing neck injury in a frontal car crash I'd guess HANS with harness is better than Leatt with 3-point is better than HANS with 3-point is better than nothing.

  • @jp3d2k that crash - ouch! You're right about slightly different things to prevent. While the Leatt helps prevent injuries caued by impact, the HANS prevents injuries from the movement of the head in respect to the torso. And I guess I can agree with that last sentence of yours ;-) Nonetheless, out of curiosity, I will have a look at how the HANS works in a normal car. be careful with that DH, used to do that as an amateur for some time until I realised that I actually like my life ;-)

  • Nice camera work :|

  • He's ginger.

  • 3:15 wtf??

  • vivky broke off the rear bumper, but at 3:15, it is back!

  • @ericstranne I noticed 5th gear tends to mash up track footage. probably from the girl's run.

  • @ericstranne at 2:46 too

  • wow, this chick is good

  • Women behind the wheel.... Bloddy hell

  • Cos i think Tom wanted to look that bit more cooler?

  • she wanted to give him road domes the whole time you could tell

  • The question is why he is waring it with the 3-point belt.. : /

  • @hakbjor lol why the hell is he wearing 1 he looks like a goof ball,. besides u dont need one doing those speeds

  • hey you forgot your bumper @ 1:52

  • i know him, he was in my school!

  • @BenderRodrigez

She spun it... look at the helmet, and the rear end of the car...still with spoiler on the car ;)

  • You're right:P i did not see that...

  • give it the beans ....LOL :))

  • what I don't like is the new Impreza. Lost his soul completely.. looks too european.

  • it dont look europeian even we dont like the ugly thing. although its only the looks that spoil this car.

  • @lea1mercian what the fuck? are you saying the subaru sti is an ugly car? cause if you are your a fucking dumbass...

  • wtf poor subaru

  • 'time for the this whippersnapper to put his money where his mouth is!'

    PMSL so true...

  • typical woman...cant drive and laughs when she messes up

  • yea, cuz Im pretty sure you could pull that time on that track...

  • I sure as hell hope i could pull that time! Ive driven a car more than once around a track...SHE RIPPED OFF THE BUMPER!!!!!

  • Do fifth gear like the Subaru Impreza???

This accident and EvoX vs Impreza

    lol

  • haha Tom pwned her!! w00t

  • I love that they both laugh at the bumper, my kind of people.

  • @Ryantravisaol Well, it's not their car, is it? ;)

  • @Ryantravisaol So if daddy let you drive his Porsche, you'd wonder if he got mad at you after you've wrecked it? Judging by your comment and the Camaro video of yours, you're not my kind of person. Don't be a douchbag.

  • @siiben you are a lonely person and im sorry for that.

  • @Ryantravisaol

No intention to argue, but if they were the owners of this Subaru they wouldn't...

  • Oh she was just having some fun with him, giving him a hard time. He didn't seem to mind.

  • Un tā viņš iemācījās braukt Latvijā.

  • At 3.15 the car has it's back bumper and after that it disappears again lol xD

  • Yes tom is a good driver! Also a great guy, i went to school with him, good laugh, i remember those days in welsh just seating in class and joking about(god that year has gone quick, college now init) lol! His gunner go place's u know! Do well Tom!!

  • this is a good example of how women are bad drivers

  • Comment removed

  • wow she got owned

  • And people think F1 is better! and when can u just get an F1 car and rally race it around a field, lol (never) unlike with the road version of the impreza seen here.

  • The best video I've ever seen in fifth gear. Thw way both person just went back to ten year olds as soon as they stepped in. Tom is definitely natural in talent by the way he drove and how calm he could talk whilst driving!

  • he looks so much more smooth than vicki

  • Definitely a good video! I always see so many nonsense videos on you tube now. Most of them are pretty funny, but it's nice to see these kinds of videos once in a while.

  • I'd rather have rough and ready from VBH, than slick and smooth from Tom any day.

  • If you compare both there driving styles, the young lad is calm and cool, and butler-henderson is much more erratic (taking off the rear bumper says it all !!) Maybe she won't be as cockey on the next head to head.
