Remembering that Yiddish is very close to German, I understood him to be saying; "Hast Du gesehen in deine Leben?", which would translate loosely to "Have you ever seen such a thing in your life?" Not that this is something to get picky about; it is still one of the funniest scenes ever to come out of Hollywood before Hollywood started taking itself too seriously.

@mustlove123 Yes, it's Yiddish. The trailer, which I saw in a Massachusetts town that was around half Jewish, revealed who in the audience was Jewish. The Jewish people knew what "schwartzes" meant, and laughed. This scene is mostly in Yiddish, and presumably alludes to the legend of the Indians being the ten lost tribes. (Of course they're not, and they wouldn't have been speaking Yiddish anyway, but this is Mel Brooks, not Walter Cronkite.)

@oldmcdonough Yiddish is basically German written in the Hebrew alphabet. It is basically a dead language today for reasons we know very well.

@samk1101 Dead language? You ever go to Williamsburg, NY? Hitler did wipe out most people that spoke it, but it is the native language of Hasidic Jews in Williamsburg. The learn English as a second language, since the State of NY makes them. They also learn Hebrew and Aramaic for prayer, Torah, and Talmud.
