I agree that shooting at 2.0 or 1.8 looks great often times but c'mon! using ND filters to always shoot at low apertures?! Take a look at the best movies from the 70's (or 50's 60's 80's 90's etc.) they weren't always shooting at 2.0! Just because you're shooting on digital doesn't mean a fast lens is going to make up for lack of creativity.
Hey Jared I'm trying to decide between getting an HDSLR like the t2i or a normal hd video camera for YouTube videos and stuff. I have heard a couple bad things about HDSLR video like bad audio and rolling shutter. What are your thoughts? By the way great videos
@CinemaSketch Hey, this is a problem I ran into as well. I've had better success using camcorders. Most of the rolling shutter problems are eliminated, and for about a hundred bucks, if not less, you can get an xlr audio adapter and get some great sound. DSLR does look great, but not if you like to do a lot of motion. If money's an issue, however, DSLR is a good choice, and more DSLR developers are trying to make their cameras video friendly.
I am sorry, but I thought the purpose of getting a camera that you could afford was the whole idea of using DSLR....these rigs are costing way more than the camera. I mean the view finder and the follow focus can cost near a 1,000! Hey maybe it's me, but if I spend 1600 on the camera I not going to spend that much on a view finder. Wish me luck, because so far this is looking real bad.
Great video keep up the good work.

is it ok for a stills photographer having a gear on their lens while they're taking stills and is it easy to focus with it?
