  • you do know that Eric Idle, the guy who wrote the song, is an atheist, right?

  • hey at 0:27 I think you meant to put "SUN" not "son" =)

  • To everyone:

The Wikipedia page stated that Monty Python did this originally, Clint Black remaking the song partially. One in the 1980s, the other in 1999. Just fyi.

  • A GREAT video... and then the lyrics were differant. Why????

  • Christianity: The arrogant belief that the entire universe was created for us.

  • @maccas1329 Not at all sir. Have you read Genesis?

  • @notablegoat Yes.

  • @maccas1329 Then either you are lying or you completely failed to grasp the point of it. And the entire Bible, and Christianity in general. But that's okay, I'm not gonna make you understand, that's really your perogative.

  • @notablegoat I understand perfectly.Please make me understand.

  • @maccas1329 If you really understood Christianity, you would know that there is no way anyone can MAKE you understand, especially over youtube comments. Or really, any religion for that matter.

  • @notablegoat Many have tried and many have failed. I will never be a Christian until it is proven. You can make someone believe it if you press it into their heads for long enough.

  • @maccas1329 Once again, you have completely failed to grasp pretty much everything about Christianity. You have failed to listen and now have inaccurate ideas about faith, God, and what it means to be a Christian (or any other religion).

  • @notablegoat Ok, since I am misguided, would you care to give me a crash course on what it is to believe(Christian faith in particular please)? I promise to listen intently and perceive your information with logic and intelligence.

  • @maccas1329 Hmmm... have you ever seen the movie Contact? You know that seen where the main character is attempting to explain to the court that she cannot explain her experience or prove it happened, but she knows it did and it's the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to her ever, and has opened up her mind and heart? Thats EXACTLY what it's like to become a Christian. The experience simply cannot be shared through words, especially not youtube comments.

  • @notablegoat If it cannot be explained why are you arguing with me about it?

  • The music between verse 2-3 was definately less good, and less funny.

Also, the "Mrs. Brown" Introduction makes this more funny, and overall make sense. I wonder why you did not sing that part.

The subtitles had more errors than the singing, though.

  • This is a Monty Python song. ...please do not CHANGE Monty Python lyrics....that's offensive to god and all that is funny.

  • @lunaluvin1 While we can all concur 'what' can be really considered 'offensive' is your evident lack of understanding... aka IGNORANCE, not only about the origin of the song or the fact it was used in the 1983 film, "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life" (does not make it "Monty Python" lyrics), but to relate such things to Divinity without understanding, reveals your arrogance too.

Moving Forward, I encourage you to 'think' before you 'act' because 'reactions', just reveals 'ignorance'. -F4T

  • @kfilips I urge you to have a damned sense of humor. This "we" you talk about must be the royal "we," because I hardly think you can speak for all of youtube...unless you're actually god... Also, the joke didn't imply a lack of understanding, just ignorance. If I'd commented on the song itself, you could say that. But I commented on the source of the music, implying mere ignorance. In fact, you don't even know for sure what I know. Perhaps I could be Eric Idle's great grandson...

  • I love how when ever someone uses the "G-Word" or tries to be silly some "holier than thou" little poindexter has to crawl up on a soap box and defend all that is divine. Lighten up. Jesus laughed it up with prostitutes and drunks, He was an educator, not a judgmental little nudge. He had a sense of humor. If you want to Christ like speak of divinity, try practicing what ya preach pal. Irony and satire aren't on any list of sins I've ever seen

  • outer spiral ARM

  • love the pic @s the end, but Y U NO PUT ON JUSTIN BEAVER?

  • Phenomenal to Consider. God has a big universe. I look forward to seeing what is on the other side of eternity...but not yet!

  • Song "by" Clint Black?

Actually, no. This is by Eric Idol, even if Mr Black performed this particular rendition; and he's got some of the words wrong too...

  • @CtrlOptDel My apologies for the 'misinformation' however, I am pleased to share I have corrected myself and included an informative link for proper understanding of the origin of the song.

Bottom-line: WTF? (Where's The Focus?) on who made the song or the message we ignorantly profess to understand?

  • :D

  • @MrDobbin666 why?

  • i luv this

  • can you please allow this to be played in a playlist becuase i like to put awesome songs in my watch laters and keep them on repeat

  • originally by monty python just saying

  • Its a spiral arm.... not spiral orb... and "son" would mean you think Hezooz gives us power? LoL

  • I prefer "Bugger all" do you Yanks have to change, clean & sanitise every thing that doesn't fit in with your view of how the world should be,no wonder you lot screwed up the world economy.Perhaps I'm over reacting my mother told me a millon times not to exagerate.

  • So can we have your liver then?

  • @ItsTheDalton yeah go on then

  • @ItsTheDalton go on then, you've convinced me ;)

  • LOL ...yes we've been cheated here on hearth, by the way there are new numbers for some of this information but it's a great song and you have done a great job, congrat.

  • um...u spelled son wrong its sun

  • Sorry, its "ending", not "end"

  • nice end...

  • For those who say lyrics are wrong: this song was written in early eighties. Our knowledge about this data is nowadays more precise.

It's like getting scandalized because Ancient Greeks thought that brain's function was to refrigerate the body. It's stupid to say "that's wrong".

This song is just brilliant, people. As so all Monty Python songs.

  • Lol at the snobs moaning about the accent. This is a great take and it sounds lovely. Nice one.

  • @matthewkoz do you realise how I could have gone. this song is shit because the american voice. im not being snoby im just expressing my point of view.

  • @nathan359- I trust you've discovered a better Point Of View by now, if not WTF? (Where's The Focus?) :D lol

  • @kfilips My focus was on the voice. For me personally I did not like it, but I will admit I was a bit harsh on the language.

  • @nathan359 -IAG! Everything we see can teach us something about ourselves, to include but not limited to our ignorance, arrogance or most important, level of understanding of LIFE. All that Inspires us... is US, for it is merely a reflection of our Spiritual Selves, everything else is just a reflective part of this thing we've called a "Human Experience".

    -F4T

  • the earth orbits 90 miles a second, the sun is the source of all our power, spiral arm not orb,

  • @MegaRamon01 : the Earth orbits the Sun at 107000 km/hr, which is 19 miles per second. The rest (spiral arm, Sun) you got right. The last line is also "'cause there's bugger all down here on Earth." It's still a pretty good rendition.

  • The music is fantastic, but the American voice ruined this for me as well. :-/

    Great job with this, though.

  • It was written by Eric Idle, and there are several postings of it, called "Monty Python Galaxy Song" from The Meaning of Life. Since Idle is a Brit, his last bit is "...that there's intelligent life somewhere out in space, 'cause there's bugger all down here on Earth". He sings it better, too. But I do like the numbers printed out in this version; it helps me conceptualize the ideas better.

  • Sorry this song is not by Clint Black it was written by Eric Idle.

  • best SONG EVAR

  • @vedatlegend Are You Sure????

  • @TheAwesome9983

    i was joking :P
