Infinite lives isn't cheating. It's just cutting out the backtracking every 9 guys. You can actually enter a code to start the game with 5 lives and 5 continues. Rare expected people to find ways to work on the later levels. It's impossible to gain the skill you need legit. Once in awhile you'll just die from some random element and with only 9 men total normally it's impossible to play the stage giving you problems enough to even pass it.

Wow another guy that bases a review on difficulty of a game, and claims its sucks, cus he cant beat it. Nice one, because I though Battletoads was good, no matter how hard it was. You just got to learn timing, and this game isn't as hard.

@TemperTantrumReview, but they don't base the whole review on difficulty. They point out pros, and cons of the game, and as far as I noticed, all you pointed out is its too hard. Also you may not have said suck, but it seemed like you hate the game.

@Kevster012 Yes it is I can only pass level 11 high and I can beat Super Contra for the arcade without a game over. I just can't react in time sober my nerves get in the way.

I remember when I was a little kid I made it to the bike stage. Me and my cousin were playing it on multiplayer and we threw fits with 100% accuracy every time we died. Haven't played it since. But I gotta say, I love me some Battletoads.

I've beaten this game once without game genie and i will never do it again, not because it wasnt a good game, but because it was the absolute most brutally hard game in the history of forever. GG BATTLETOADS I WANT MY CHILDHOOD BACK! lol

The ironic thing about Battletoads has always been that the Dark Queen battle - the last boss of the game, which is traditionally the most difficult - was actually the easiest challenge in the game to overcome.

I have a love/hate relationship with this game. It was awesome and innovative on so many levels, but it was hard to appreciate all those innovations because it was in fact, the hardest video game ever made. To this day, I have never passed level 5. And I've never used a game genie.
