I've listened to all the compressors at PGS and this one sounds just like your description. Very natural retains the guitars voice and I don't hear any strange artifacts or squished quackers happening. I thought I liked the Diamond.
Some of the other compressor/sustainers are neato for sure though to like the Philosophers Tone Gold.
I really dig this comp but I still can't decide myself between this one, the bi-comp and the keeley 4-knob. All I know is that I want a ross-type compressor...
Wish I could test them but there is no store in Germany which sells these pedals.
@pogoism1 If you want a Ross type why get the bi? half of it isn't what you want. The keeley 4 knob has an input level. You don't need that if you plan on using it with guitar as you don't need to adjust for line level signals. The Retro-Sonic has the bright/dark switch making it better than the Keeley. There is a point at which you are paying for the Keeley name alone, and that point is the Retro-Sonic. You can't build better than the best so don't pay for a name.
@melindagreenjeans I don't know.......... I havn't played through the RetroSonic, but I've played through the Keeley. It's not just a name. As of now it's the best I've tried.
This RetroSonic appears to be a killer too. How much is this one?
What is that the guitar part to at 4:26?
