@XxjessrocksxX I think the message of the movie is different from message of the book. Why they changed the message? Dunno exactly but the movie emphasizes on "dying gracefully" and the book doesn't... I think the producers just wanted Kate to die? What do you think?

I lked the mother (sara) in the movie but I couldn't stand her character in the book...

Given medical facts, the ending of the book is impossible.

The script writer had to fix that problem of the novel.

Well, the mediacal diagnosis indicated that it is impossible to donate a kidney to her, as that kidney would begin to fail at once with that kind of Leukemia.

In other words: the kidney would be donate in vain and she dies anyway.

OMG!! I saw the movie the week it came out and it was so good!!! even though it was interupting crying teenagers on the part the boy......... never mind but it was good. And sad. VERY SAD!

There were so many things about the movie that I liked, but it still just makes me so mad that they didn't trust the audience enough to keep the original ending. The book's ending was done for a very, very specific reason, and beyond that, I think it would have enhanced Sofia's performance that much more if they stuck with the right ending. They could have made it work if they really wanted to, and it could have been an amazing film in its own right. It was still okay, but much more cliched.

as much as i loved the film i prefer the book because that ending is better and you dont see it coming. the book is better than the film it is much sadder, if you cry at the film wait till you read the book
