i am an athlete, and have been since i was little. i have very mild cerebral palsy and will most likley be playing on my JV girls soccer team this year as a sophomore. the only accommodations i may have are less intense practices and training, and that does not mean we are any worse than an able bodied person. so i say yes to accommodations because we all deserve to do what we love and should not be stoped just becuse we are different. WE should be given OUR chance to shine

I have an allograft and knee replacement in my right leg. to sum it up 80% of my leg is not mine. I have been training in kung at the usa kung fu academy in hyannis for three years and two to go for my black sash test. I know deep in my heart no accomodations will be given to me. I will be tested to my physical limits, and will be knocked down time after time in the test like everyone else. the body may be broken but the soul is not.

One thing I'd like to mention is that the athletes featured here have had amputations, and that is incredibly different than athletes who have a form of paralysis. No- we should not ever feel sorry for someone because they have a disability, but yes sometimes accomodations need to be made. Otherwise, the paraplegic and quadreplegic athletes would not be able to compete.
