  • Are you kidding me? This aircraft is over 5,000' up. You need to realize that there are 500 happy people in that airplane, and only you who is complaining. You lose.

  • All these comments telling people to move... What the fuck are you on about? The guy is 15 miles from the damn airport. I live 40 miles from an airport and we hear planes all fucking day long -at 30,000 feet but it ruins the quiet. We went camping in the woods and there were planes flying over us all night. Planes are a curse and should be banned. High speed maglev is what we need.

  • i hear it just now at 3:00 am over new york. it was soooo loud and i didnt see anything since it was night but sky was clear. it was soo loud i felt like earth was shaking . but the noise kept coming back and than leaving and than coming back again. i was kinda scared why do aircrafts fly over new york so late i never saw or heard this before

  • i love the mighty roar of a jet on take-off, i live close to Belfast city Airport and the departure is right over my house, i always go and look out of the window, its amazing!

  • Hi lucytoper-

I am a TI, and I have been experiencing the exact same type of noise interference from planes flying over my home as well as traffic noises and loud booming noises. Thanks for posting this, it helps to lend credibility to what I and other TI's have been reporting.

  • Hi there fordairport and thanks for your input. Comments such as yours further my cause enormously.

By the way, just out of interest, where did you complete your pilot training and what level did you reach?

  • i agree with magicalkyra2 the airport was already there all you have to do is shut your moth for a few seconds then continue i live 2 miles from the MSP airport besides im a pilot and it doesn't bother me if it bothers you so much just move and stop your complaining

  • If you live near an airport you do have to expect noise. I understand the airfield has only been there since the 1940's so you must have lived in the same house for a very long time for the airport to have sprung out of nowhere and become a problem. I'm sure your not one of those annoying people who moves somewhere then complains because they choose to live next to a loud factory, a motorway or under a flight path. If it was there first, its got every right to be there.

  • Thanks for your comment. I've lived here about 14 years. When we moved in there was no aircraft noise that I was aware of. In the last 2 - 3 years things have got a lot noisier. To be honest it never even occured to me that aircraft noise would become a problem. I'm sure I would have assumed 15 miles was far enough away from the airport not to worry anyway.
