Anna Maxwell Martin(SOUTH RIDING, POPPY SHAKESPEAR) played Lyra, Dominic Cooper(MAMMA MIA) was Will, and Russell Tovey(BEING HUMAN) played Roger. Timothy Dalton(JAMES BOND) is Asriel, and Mrs Coulter was acted by Patricia Hodge(MIRANDA). . . . WHAT A CAST!
i don't think those two were playing lyra and will when i saw this, i saw it at the National Theatre in London if anyone else knows or was there can u let me know i could have sworn it was a blonde girl in the production i saw
I went to see this earlier in the year, it's an amazing play, the best one I've seen so far! Had me on the edge of my sheet at the cliffhangers at the end of each part. I'd love to see it again!
Absolute rubbish!! The puppets are the theatre and the adaptation weak and anemic. The actors worked themselves so hard they were hoarse in their desperate attempts to inform the audience of the narrative. The show is just not for the theater and the popularity of the story has more to do with Pullman's books rather than the theater. Deep philosophy? No money making pap!! Avoid.
