I have a 3 year old Boykin Spaniel female named Dixie and she is the sweetest dog in the world! Boykin's are such a sweet dog!!! (and yes, ironically I live in south carolina)

All growing up, from the mid 80's to the early 2000's, my family had this breed. They had a stray named Racer before I was born that they loved and found out was mostly Boykin. So when it came time for another, that's what we got, and even bred for 16 years or so. Dad's an avid duck hunter, so it was the perfect dog for him, and I could romp around with them, too. One in particular, named Katie, was my companion through most of my childhood. My aunt still has one that was born in the early 90's.

Bubble gum bum... Comment is ignorant of knowing that AL breeds are a mix of something, lol and the Boykin is its own breed too, just as Cockers were a mix that became its own breed, Boykins are RECOGNIZED BY AKC. Hmmm kinda makes you wanna research something before you post!

I have a boykin spaniel named Henry, we got him from Virginia and now he's happily living and swimming on Long Island! Excellent companion. I can't imagine life without him.

this dog is SOOOOOOOOOOO like mine,i have videos of it in my page but i was always told it was a English Cocker,since its a mix between a water dog(dont know the name in english) and a cocker spaniel

@DogsAreMyBestFriends All growing up, no one around me had ever heard of them. I remember in third grade getting in a really vehement argument with a guy in the lunchline when I told him I had a Boykin spaniel, and he claimed there was no such dog. I don't see them in most dog breed books, but I see articles about them fairly frequently in dog periodicals.
