I think this is wonderful!!!! I like to involve my kids in the kitchen. They are able to help get items on sale & bulk, set it up so nights I don't have much time- it's ready to throw in the oven. Thanks for sharing :)
No offense but every idiot can pop up a can, empty the contents in a sack, and "smooch" it, or whatever. I don't need a 6 minute video just to show exactly how much to put in the sack from those premade canned stuff. This is not cooking!
Good ideas. I know it wouldn't take long to do them when you were ready to cook but there is just something about grabbing a bag and dumping it without having to think. We all have those days. Minue rice and instant mashed potatoes, a green veggie or any veggie, a salad (I like fruit salads with these) and you are good to go.
I think that the point isn't so much time-saving as making it ahead. In other words, it is already in the freezer, so dinner becomes a no-brainer, and you don't have to plan it or order pizza. :-)
On the day you cook, it is easier to dump in the bag than handle raw chicken with toddlers/babies, too. :-)
Hey, these meals need to have other stuff with them right? Or is it just salad with each. What is the difference between doing this, or doing it an hour before you make it? Surely the time saving (if any) would be infinitesimal?
The point would be having them seasoned and marinated with out the fuss of bringing out all your spices every time you cook..it saves time when you can't prepare the meal due to children needed time with you and other things so it is easy to put to bake or grill and just have a salad or fresh veggie on the side!!
