  • Magnificent interpretation!

  • What the heck is this?? A student performance? Widor would never have been so generous with the "detached-ness" of this performance! Like listening to a cat being groomed! UGH!!!

  • The console looks like its been knoced up in a school woodwork class

  • Uggghhhh! This is NOT the best organ in the world - by a long shot! The performance is commendable, however.

  • @joebobshouse best organ in the world, no. an organ in general as the best instrument in the world, YES!

  • Very impressive!

  • the best instrument in the world,

  • marry me

  • sympas d entendre cette finale de la 4 ieme symphonie car tres peu d organiste la joue en concert

  • i really enjoy listening to your playing. truly you have a gift. i dont know if you take requests, but i would love to hear Sir Elton John's Funeral For A Friend played on a true organ

  • Thanks! I will try to find the music. It might not be suitable for organ. I'll see what I can do.

  • A typical concert console.

Does the organ have a mechanical console too, like all Rieger-organs?

  • yes, it does.

  • pretacci stupidi,

    visto che roba!??

Ci siamo anche noi italiani, ma a .... non ve ne frega niente,

ci sono le chitarre, costano niente e poi le suonano i...boysscout, eh!!!!!

  • You play very well ericfan...love Widor, love your playing...so it's win win.Congratulations on a lot of hard work!

  • Italians are the best organists!!!!

  • what did your mother ask you? :P

im not that fluent in chinese, but its at like 5:45 and she asked you "how" or something and you said "i dont know" lol

  • She asked me what is my future plans. But i don't really know how to speak mandarin, so i just answered i don't know.

  • Well played Eric! Have you tried plauing any JS Bach? I wish you could go to Germany and play some of Gottfried Silberman's organ's, they're lovely to see, play and look at, unlike the console of the organ you play here. Keep up the excellent playing!!

    PS: your mom looks lovely!

  • thanks! Yes, I play several Bach pieces, including Toccata, Adagio, and Fugue in C major, Sinfonia from Cantata no. 29, and other pieces.

The Console here is kind of ugly, but the sound is great.

  • well done and very well exicuted playing.. IS that your teacher beside you?... Love the sound of the organ. I have friends who live there and told me about the instrument..Good Luck with your carrer.

  • Thanks!

Yes, she is my teacher, also my mom.

  • very nicely played...am learning some widor myself so can apprecaite what you are playing! well done!

  • Thanks! Widor is great!

  • Mr. Fan, what do you like and dislike about the Rieger organ in the Shenzhen Culture Center? How does it compare to any other organs that you have played? By the way, great playing! Well done!

  • Hi there, I like the sound of the organ, especially the 32' pipes. However, I don't really like the console; it really is a horrible looking console (as stated below by latribe) and has buttons that SOMETIMES works compared to the other organs that I have played.

  • WIDOR IS MAGNIFICENT!!!

  • Lovely playing! Well done! Super organ. But HORRIBLE looking console :-(

  • I believe this instrument is in China, which would attribute to the odd console design. I don't think it's that bad looking, although I would hate to have to change registration quickly. Well Played!

  • Thanks! The organ was made in Austria from Rieger. They've used a Chinese design for the pipes and the console, and it was also painted in colors of distinct Chinese style - brown. (I think the Chinese design is not suitable for the organ)

  • Thanks!

Although it looks terrible, but the touching was just perfect. By the way it's a Rieger.

  • China is a relative newcomer to the organ. I am confident had they been around much longer that Mao would have had them melted down for guns or canons. One must also remember that even in the arts China tends toward function over style.

  • Yes! Certainly function is brilliant! But perhaps making the odd comment, future designers in China might grace their instruments with a console that looks a pleasure to play! As China gains economic and academic supremacy and Europe sinks into some Dark Age, China may be responsible for carrying the flag of civilisation on high . . . Keep it alive!

(It's a pleasure to hear Chinese people speaking such perfect English sometimes, in contrast to the Souf London speech of so many UK nationals)

  • BRAVO !

  • Thanks!

  • Well, Thisis impressive for a fellow your age and with as little organ experience as you have. If you can play big pieces like this you have little to worry about for a convert visit to the place of many players. Practice is most imnportant. Emeorizing the score is wonderful, Be technically perfect and emotionally involved - that is how you play music. Well Done. Now work on some Franck, Widor and Vierne

  • LOL - Please try again later . .

  • ???

  • Hahaha!
