@Babsobabs383 I hate people who dis characters for killing, those who do kill usually have lost faith in the law. My favorite comic character is Deadpool, a psychopathic mercenary who was tortured to the point of insanity and has lost faith in humanity, and uses comedy to hide his depression and insecurity (he's like the Joker in many ways). I'm not saying killing is right, but the character can kill and be a great character, you understand?
@Babsobabs383 And what's all this Hell business? Batman didn't say anything about that. Please don't bring religion into this (not like Constantine or Hellboy, those are awesome)
@Babsobabs383 religion should not play a part in our wonderful comics and animated series. it is inconsistent across the board. these characters are meant to be loved by all. the batman said he doesn't want to go to "that dark place". and by that, he meant in his mind.
Why is everyone saying Batman should freaking kill the joker? You mist be all retards because Batman is a "SUPERHERO". They don't kill anyone, and you heard batman say he doesn't kill the joker because he doesn't want to go to hell. That's what happens when you kill people, dumbasses.
@Babsobabs383 actually when batman said that if he'll go down to that place and he'll never come back, he was actually referring to killing. Batman is trying to say that if he goes down to Joker's level, he will never stop killing because it would be too easy to do that to stop crime. And you're right about how Batman should not kill the joker, but its also because he doesn't want to be like the thug that killed his parents.
@Babsobabs383 i personally think he should kill him people say two wrongs don't make a right but trs done 50 bilion worngs i am using a hyperbole yes but you get my drift if gotham is unwilling to give the death penalty to this murderous evisack of garbage then batman shoud take care of him and when batman said he didn't wanto go into a dark placesorry buddy but he wasn't reffering to hell he was reffering to the fact that he is afraid that he will like the joker but he wouldn't
@FEARher0 i think the bat won't kill joker because he can't live without him in a way same for the joker ying yang light dark good evil one cannot exist without the other all the chance joker had to kill the bat and he wont but the jokers probaly saving him for an epic moment to kill him
@TheDp321 ha ha ha i have read loads of batman comic books the Joker is my fav character then harley quinn , ivy then the bat. the joker's connection to the Batman is very intresting because it is ying and yang one cannot survive without the other,
@Babsobabs383 based on that, most of the people who fought to protect whole nations and races in WW2 are in hell, as both sides had to kill people on the field of battle.
@Babsobabs383 Laughed hard at your comment. "he doesn't kill the joker because he doesn't want to go to hell. That's what happens when you kill people, dumbasses." Not even going to adress your last sentence there because. funny as fuck. But he doesn't kill Joker because it'd be TOO easy to kill him. Once Joker is dead. Then let's kill Scarecrow. Then Two-Face. It'd be SO easy. That's why Batman refuses to give into Joker and kill him. Because then he might never stop.
@Babsobabs383 In the six days since thsi comment was written, the joker killed three dozen people....but it's cool, Batman's a superhero, and we all know bein in the Justice League is way more important than the Joker's victims
@MrIHunter1 oh I get the point of batman...."he's the hero fanboys want, but not the hero Gotham City needs"....his job is to catch the Joker...but him in Arkham....wait for the joker to escape...kill a dozen people....repeat.
I knwo why Batman dosen't kill....but because of that fact, joker will always kill more people than batman will ever save
@Biorythym He has saved plenty of people from the Joker, and if he kills someone, that will lead to bad publicity and ruin his reputation with the people. No one will trust him, the police will come after him, and his job will be even more difficult than it already is. What your saying is the equivalent of saying "Hey, some criminals might escape the law, so law enforcement should just kill everyone that breaks or bends the law for any reason."
@MrIHunter1 That's not the point. No matter how many people Batman saves, which proportionately isn't a lot, by allowing the Joker to live he will always have in effect caused at least one person to die. By killing the Joker and ending it there, it sends a message to all the criminals that Batman may not just stop at locking them away and it might actually cause Gotham to actually start cleaning itself up.
Also a cop can literally do what you just said so your point is invalid lol
@Malthizar No they can't, they are only supposed to shoot if absolutely necessarily and they can get in trouble for unwarranted shooting or police brutality. Batman fears that if he kills Joker he will be tempted to kill others, even if they don't deserve it. Then he becomes a villain. Ever thought of that. Lockup is an example of a vigilante who kills and maims villains even for the most minor things, and he is a villain. Batman doesn't want to be like that.
@Babsobabs383 I thinks it's more that he doesn't want to stoop to their levels and never take the easy way out, which means simply kill them, but I agree with you
@Babsobabs383 That's not what happens at all. If you actually read the Bible, it states that although killing is a major sin, it can be repented. Meaning if you kill someone but then repent and never do it again you'll be fine. The reason Batman doesn't kill is for the exact same reason he stated. He doesn't kill the Joker because he knows he will be tempted to deal with every criminal he faces in that same way, even if they don't deserve to die. Going to hell has nothing to do with it.

@MrHero17@JChowIsAwesome The poster, and as super dawge says, he used the table as a shield. futhermore, Joker was RIGHT IN FRONT of the bomb, yet he hasn't exploded to bits an pieces. Hell, he's JUST fine....just under a whole lot of collapsed ceilings. Me thinks he is alive and well~
@ani31mine Well it all depends of witch version. He doesen't return in the rest of the movies after Batman (1989) and is the same in Batman: The Animated Series because that's the last time you see The Joker when he dies in Batman Beyond: Return Of The Joker if you follow the plot and not when it was released. Also depends on witch kind of comics you reading. So you know he dies in some plots but later comes back in other versions of him like all the other comic book villains Mate! XD
So if someone went on a killing spree and took out thousands of people, Batman would just catch them lock em up and then they escape. Failure at it's finest.
@xxmatt4444xx the movie is based of the comic book, in it the red hood returns much later after his assumed death, he even takes on the persona od Red robin for a time, and fights the other robins for the title of batman when bruce 'dies'.
@omagafox123 Thank you. That raises another question for me though. I could never find out how bruce died? And does the new batman still wear the original batsuit or is it changed?
@xxmatt4444xx not really dead. some sort of time thing, i came back to the DC fold a little after he returned. little grey-er and occasionally a return to the blue cape. but on bruces return the batsuit is still pretty much the same as always
Now that Mark Hamill has retired his role as the voice of the Joker. I would like this guy to do it from now on. I know he is not Mark Hamill or got his legendary laugh. But lets admit he did a damn good job in this film.
@AlphaOmega804 That would be John DiMaggio, who also voices Marcus Fenix(Gears of War), Bender(Futurama), Jake(Adventure Time), and various other characters.
@AlphaOmega804 It's better than Brave & The Bold or Young Justice's versions *shudder* good lord, I don't think I could do anything Batman if one of those 2, especially Young Justice takes up the role.
John Dimaggio for next Joker, though personally I'd like em to still get new voices every now and again like they did with this film cause y'never know, they might find someone even better if they keep trying(though Mark hamill is tough to top).
im not getting how if batman grabbed jason and joker was left infron of the bomb joker is alive >>..and seriosly my question is ...did jason die? cuase he was not to be found in the rubble even after the bat grabbed him =.=
The problem I've always seen with comics taking place in the USA is that villains never get a death sentence, they only get jail time. In a country where people get capital punishment left and right, this seems illogical to me. I guess the writers wouldn't be able to create enough villains to make the comic endure for long.
The Joker probably don't get capital punishment because he's white...
Jason is not dead because then he later makes his rebel gang with star fire and red arrow. Its in the comics. This is the best batman comic movie so far.
Thank you very much. That speech and this scene were by far the best part of this awesome movie. With the exceptions of the Dark Knight and the flashback scene from Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, there is no Batman movie that I know of that went as bleak and chilling as this one.
@zeeamja1 didn't batman save him from the bomb? you can see him grabbing him at 0:30. lol how can he sit next to a kitchen table to protect himself from a explosion? he planned to die along with batman if it meant taking the joker with him.
@CommanderCooper i little becuse i am with marvel not to much with universal dc i am marvel but i buy batman arkham city and assassins creed revelations but about batman i know everyone of batman becuse in batman arkham city thers is every bad ass and thers two good guys catwoman and nightwing well what age are you becuse i sm 12 and you and a remenber when i was a kid i play with my toys that was superman and batman a spiderman and black spiderman and venom i wish i can go back in time and you
I must confess that when this movie started, I was confused by the Joker's voice. It wasn't terrible but it just didn't seem to fit the character. However, as the movie went on, I liked it more and more. And then I got to this scene, where the Joker says "You win, and everybody still loses!" and right after that he embraces they all dying together. Those statements combined with the voice make me go..."Holy Shit! That's the Joker and he is scary!"
I think we're all used to Mark Hamil from Batman The Animated Series, and to a lesser extent Heath Ledgers Joker. So this new voice actor tends to throw us off at the start. Regardless I completely agree with you. The speech where he talks about how Batman finds a way to win is amazingly well done.
@luckycandy101 reason why I brought up the Axial Poles? Well, THE AXIAL POLES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH MAGNETISM! Also, He is the Joker. He has survived Sharks.
@eastwing329 yes but his character is a human with a phycopathic nature. HES STILL HUMAN. Batman even knows he can die by bullets, so he uses stealth. Batman has been shot and has been in the hospital, (or in the batcave injured). Then joker survives an explosion right next to him??! and WTF does sharks have to do with Joker surviving an explosion >_>....
@luckycandy101 I meant in the sense that he has survived many seemingly fatal injuries and he still will. He has gotten a knife in the chest and nearly bleed to death. Plus, he is a fictional character who dresses like a clown and uses a gas that kills people by literally making them laugh themselves to death. I have seen much from DC and Marvel. I have seen Batman seemingly killed by Darkseid's Omega beams which are supposed to kill instantly on impact. I am taking this in stride.
Huh. I still can't help but give a silent ho-ra at the scene when red hood shows up and begins giving orders, but says if anyone sells drugs to kids he will personally hunt them down. It kinda was a tricky way to show he wasnt crazy.
I counted pass 0 and it hit -6 when it exploded, is the bomb broken? :O

Now that Mark Hamill has retired his role as the voice of the Joker. I would like this guy to do it from now on. I know he is not Mark Hamill or got his legendary laugh. But lets admit he did a damn good job in this film.
Hands up if you agree.

LordEsel88 2 months ago
@LordEsel88 Im not sure about this....but I think they don't give him the capital punishment because hes insane.

Jason is not dead because then he later makes his rebel gang with star fire and red arrow. Its in the comics. This is the best batman comic movie so far.

@dukeofcanada
Thank you very much. That speech and this scene were by far the best part of this awesome movie. With the exceptions of the Dark Knight and the flashback scene from Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, there is no Batman movie that I know of that went as bleak and chilling as this one.
1215ra 3 months ago
@zeeamja1 didn't batman save him from the bomb? you can see him grabbing him at 0:30. lol how can he sit next to a kitchen table to protect himself from a explosion? he planned to die along with batman if it meant taking the joker with him.

I must praise Bender for winning me over!!
1215ra 3 months ago
@1215ra
I think we're all used to Mark Hamil from Batman The Animated Series, and to a lesser extent Heath Ledgers Joker. So this new voice actor tends to throw us off at the start. Regardless I completely agree with you. The speech where he talks about how Batman finds a way to win is amazingly well done.
dukeofcanada 3 months ago
Such bullshit surviving an explosion right next to you, then being able to laugh it off. These DC writers suck...
luckycandy101 3 months ago
@luckycandy101 cartoon. Also, umm, let me think: One More Day, and Magneto using the Axial Poles to cause floods. Both Marvel.
eastwing329 3 months ago
@luckycandy101 reason why I brought up the Axial Poles? Well, THE AXIAL POLES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH MAGNETISM! Also, He is the Joker. He has survived Sharks.
eastwing329 3 months ago
@eastwing329 yes but his character is a human with a phycopathic nature. HES STILL HUMAN. Batman even knows he can die by bullets, so he uses stealth. Batman has been shot and has been in the hospital, (or in the batcave injured). Then joker survives an explosion right next to him??! and WTF does sharks have to do with Joker surviving an explosion >_>....
luckycandy101 3 months ago
@luckycandy101 I meant in the sense that he has survived many seemingly fatal injuries and he still will. He has gotten a knife in the chest and nearly bleed to death. Plus, he is a fictional character who dresses like a clown and uses a gas that kills people by literally making them laugh themselves to death. I have seen much from DC and Marvel. I have seen Batman seemingly killed by Darkseid's Omega beams which are supposed to kill instantly on impact. I am taking this in stride.
eastwing329 3 months ago
Huh. I still can't help but give a silent ho-ra at the scene when red hood shows up and begins giving orders, but says if anyone sells drugs to kids he will personally hunt them down. It kinda was a tricky way to show he wasnt crazy.
