It might not be what you're expecting but it works and I like it. A bit clever is Ladynea and having listened to a few bars of her ' Cry me a River ' I want to hear some more
I listened to your version of this song it's really beautiful, I noticed the comments below and was so insensed I had to join youtube just to post a comment. If people really want to get geeky there is not a single note sung in that song that doesn't complement the acompanying music, check your scales they will all be in there! That is a hard black and white fact, maybe you just don't like the way they sound? Sorry for being a geek but it's not in the wrong key!
wrong key?? no, music is not confined by one key. this was the key for her voice, which is quite beautiful by the way, so wrong key no. different key yes. don't bring wrong and right into music
Very pretty voice, NOT off key with the band, but some of the personal interpretation notes were off key. I think you know that. By all means do this again, really good job for a first attempt.
Beautifully done -- lotsa subtlety and some gorgeous delicacy, but some real body to it too. Hey, that takes talent. And I really have to say: those who don't appreciate the tasteful "personalizing" of the song must have a whole different feeling about jazz than I have. Which of course is their right. But IMO real jazz was never a plain vanilla approach, and this includes the melody, the timing, everything. Gimme some well-done pushing of the envelope any day.
you have a nice voice (and maybe style),BUT you're not in the same key as the band for most of it. re-record this one, and you will be happier with it too.
okay, no fighting here. listened again. i wouldn't consider myself a traditionalist... i can accept variations, harmonies or working with the chords, but IN MY OPINION, alot of this does not fit, and sounds awful. i certainly do not want to insult you or the singer. if you like it (not that you said you do) please enjoy. i welcome your comments. youtube is a great place.
you have a great attitude. thanks for not being offended. you also have at least one gfreat supporter. i've continued the conversation with melanie and at the least, you've stirred up interest in the song! keep on singing from sunny italy!
Hey no offense OldJoe, but you couldn't be more wrong. This woman is FULLY and beautifully in tune. Gorgeous. I just happened on this song by accident (by way of "Hound Dog"!) and it was something like a sunrise dawning over a lake. All those subtle colors. Style? Ain't no maybe BOUT it. I love also her gracious acceptance of the criticism. But if you re-record this song LadyNea, please leave both up. Hey we agree though -- YouTube is great!
this is not out of key!!! this is beautiful! whoever thinks this is out of key needs to check their stuff...

Brilliant! If there is an album, I will buy it. If not, why not?
As to the those who cannot hear clearly. . . The important key is that which unlocks the soul, and releases the emmotions. This is wonderful.

just because she isn't singing the melody line does not mean she's in the wrong key

Hi thank you for your comment :)
To be honest I've never been satisfied with this recording either... it was a try and it can be made definitively better.
I've been working on this song and very soon I'll upload another take of it.
So I will be waiting for your all comments :) they can be very helpful!
